i am looking for more scriptures that can prove to a jehovah witness that god is jesus, and jesus is god.i found only one verse so far in 1jo:5:20: and we know that the son of god is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his son jesus christ.
this is the true god, and eternal life.. if you know more scriptures that say directly that god is jesus please tell me the verses the jhw will see plainly that jesus is no way an angel, and he is jehovah god almighty.. my friend said if i can prove by the bible only that jesus is god he will leave the jhw society, and he will know that they are teaching lies and they would be to him a dogma religious sect.
my friend gave me a booklet called should you believe in the trinity?, and is jesus christ the almighty god.

The Social Psychology of Modern Slavery
Contrary to conventional wisdom, slavery has not disappeared from the world. Social scientists are trying to explain its persistence
By Kevin Bales
For Meera, the revolution began with a single rupee. When a social worker came across Meera's unmapped village in the hills of Uttar Pradesh in India three years ago, he found that the entire population was in hereditary debt bondage. It could have been in the time of their grandfathers or great-grandfathers--few in the village could remember--but at some point in their past, the families had pledged themselves to unpaid labor in return for loans of money. The debt passed down through the generations. Children as young as five years old worked in quarry pits, making sand by crushing stones with hammers. Dust, flying rock chips and heavy loads had left many villagers with silicosis and injured eyes or backs.Calling together some of the women, the social worker proposed a radical plan. If groups of 10 women agreed to set aside a single rupee a week from the tiny sums the moneylenders gave them to buy rice, he would provide seed money and keep the funds safe. Meera and nine others formed the first group. The rupees slowly mounted up. After three months, the group had enough to pay off the loan against which Meera was bonded. She began earning money for her work, which greatly increased the amount she could contribute to the group. In another two months, another woman was freed; the following month, a third came out of bondage.
At that point, the other members, seeing that freedom was possible, simply renounced their debts and declared themselves free.
The moneylenders quickly moved against them, threatening them and driving them from the quarries. But the women were able to find jobs in other quarries. New groups followed their example. The social worker has taken me to the village twice, and on my second visit, all its inhabitants were free and all their children in school.
Less than 100 kilometers away, the land turns flat and fertile. Debt bondage is common there, too. When I met Baldev in 1997, he was plowing. His master called him "my halvaha," meaning "my bonded plowman." Two years later I met Baldev again and learned that because of a windfall from a relative, he had freed himself from debt. But he had not freed himself from bondage. He told me:
After my wife received this money, we paid off our debt and were free to do whatever we wanted. But I was worried all the time--what if one of the children got sick? What if our crop failed? What if the government wanted some money? Since we no longer belonged to the landlord, we didn't get food every day as before. Finally, I went to the landlord and asked him to take me back. I didn't have to borrow any money, but he agreed to let me be his halvaha again. Now I don't worry so much; I know what to do.
Lacking any preparation for freedom, Baldev reenrolled in slavery. Without financial or emotional support, his accidental emancipation didn't last. Although he may not bequeath any debt to his children, his family is visibly worse off than unbonded villagers in the same region.

jehovah's witnesses are interested in you and your problems.
they feel their beliefs are most obviously inspired of god.
jehovah's witnesses do believe that they should be teaching biblical truth.

Images should not be used in worship Ex. 20:4, 5; Lev. 26:1; 1 Cor. 10:14; Ps. 115:4-8
Is this so JWs don't get confused and think that God is more powerful than a piece of 'wood or stone'?
What about all the scary images in JW literature? and on the WT webpage?
Spiritism must be shunned Deut. 18:10-12; Gal. 5:19-21; Lev. 19:31Isn't God a spirit? And isn't there harmony between 'spirit and truth'?
I am confused now too!

How about this quote from the webpage?...
The bird's heavy, wedge-shaped bill can grow to a length of more than ten inches [30 cm]—a powerful asset in extracting pieces of meat from a carcass.Sounds like a little double entendre to me.

Hey Larc,
Remember those good ole 80's, when there was a 30 min coffee break between the meeting for field service and field service?
Those were the days!
I suppose you may have left by then, however. What were your 'good ole days' like?

another question.. this one is for all those that began doubting the organisation when they were an obedient jw.. although i am sure you rarely shared it with anyone, what was the one problem you had with a certain jw only doctrine?.
what i mean is, what little gremlins lurked at the back of your mind?
what were the doubts that you kept hidden and what made you finally act on them?.
Hi In_between,
When I learned that JWs borrowed heavily from fundamentalist sources in supporting the flood and creation myths, that just about did it for me.
I started reading the books I otherwise would have avoided. I wasn't just getting other opinions, I was also getting facts hidden carefully and obscured by the WTBS.
Good question.
By the way, I always (really since I was a young child) hated the phrase "the Truth". It was never used grammatically besides. For example, 'raised in the Truth'. Geez, I truly hated that.
I am sure I am not the only one.

Jehovah's Witnesses are interested in you and your problems. They feel their beliefs are most obviously inspired of God.
Jehovah's Witnesses do believe that they should be teaching Biblical truth. But they themselves are perfect, inspired, and infallible. Take them literally. When it comes to religious teachings, the Witnesses strongly endorse the course of emotional fulfillment and not mere agreement with the 'inspired Scriptures'.
Many prophecies of the Old Testament, or Hebrew Scriptures, to which they apply speculations, indicate they still await fulfillment. (Historically, they have been fulfilled. Except, all of us understand the Bible to be figurative, or symbolic.)
It is of vital importance to God that you tell more people about how they have made mistakes in all their activities. Preach this in your discussions with them: "You want to live like everyone else, to have normal physical and economic experiences? This is test of the world! Diligently consider these needed corrections to your mind. Or else!...This brochure..."
Make friends with Jehovah's Witnesses. Have you heard of holy spirit? They received accurate guidance from it 66 times!
They will not feel at all God's expressions prepared for the others (religious creeds)!
Of course they rely on welfare. They urge you to make a dedication to their organization.
