I don't know if my experience was similar, because I don't know really if the elder was reproved. Just a suspicion.
Anyhow, I was removed from being a servant etc etc and I haven't been back since january last year; I just slipped through the cracks (intentionally of course)

a lot of people are curious about what evidence there is in the fossil record for evolution.. check out scientific american, for a good example of whales.
(there was a good article there also in 2001 about the chemical origins of life, but i can't find it online) lotsa free info, and it's drawn from modern research.. .

God 1st asked him to ascend the mountain to sacrifice his son, then withdrew his petition.
But later when other people practiced child sacrifice, it was viewed as "evil". In fact, God was quoted as saying 'the thought had never even occured to me'.
That must have been someone other than you speaking to Abraham, then, God Jehovah? (ooh I get still get chills being so brazen --- maybe its the demons tickling my spine )
The thing is, the argument against the child sacrificers goes something like 'well, it was a special case in which Jehovah tested Abraham's faith'. But weren't the other nations also pleasing their respective gods and proving their faith?

The world is constantly changing. Who is debating that? It is a simple fact.
For example, the population density of humans on earth continues to increase. Exponentially, mind you. This is the cause of most of 'today's monumental problems'.
More people have died the 20th century from war than in... yada yada yada. Well, don't you expect this to happen? There are more people nowadays then ever before.
Examine the data another way:
A average young man of 20 in today's world is far less likely to be called into military duty and subsequently die on the battlefield than the world of 100, 200, etc... years ago. Also because there are more people than ever before, allowing relatively smaller military resources.
The message of doom is not laughable because we do not have the capability to destroy ourselves, however. We do.

For what reason do we have prophets 'communicating with God' if they bring back to the table problems instead of solutions?! A little optimism goes a long way, especially if you're in cahoots with God. (hint of sarcasm there, couldn't help myself.)
It is clearly the pessimistic doomsayer that yearns to 'live in a world that continues on as in the past'. The attitudes YK endorses show a resentment of change, which brings BOTH positive and negative consequences.
YK, I would like to see you take on the quetion of responsibility, rather than 'leaving it to Jehovah to destroy the wicked so that everything can be perfect like it was in the past'. What past are you talking about that was so ideal?

Anyhow, nice to meet you.
I used to work in Pediatric Cardiology during my undergraduate years, and I got to visit the ICU quite often to get a jump on my database research. It was quite fascinating to see small infants' hearts beating resiliently (don't want to go into too many details here) just after surgery.
I also often saw kids sitting up in bed and watching TV in the evening following their successful heart transplant!
