  Anybody from California?

  Total combined number of years out for community

  over the past several months, i have read some heart breaking stories from women who come here, who have been involved with jw men.

  now, this leads me to ask.

  What is backward now was also backward in the 1900s.

  Can you imagine wearing a complete dress as a swimsuit? Where is the utility in that? Yet that's what you see in early black and white beach photos.

  People really thought the human (especially female) body was to be hidden from view at all cost.

  Some societies still hold to this concept; not only is it old fashioned, it's also illogical to the extreme.

  Now, a question more relevant to the discussion:

  Why is is that women must decide how much to reveal while men perhaps will decide whether to wear a suit jacket? Nothing too revealing about men's possible choices of kh attire.

  Reminds me of the comment by one of the women on this board about her remaining partiality to white-collared men who were unafraid to 'roll their sleeves up'.

  So is there anything else sexy about JW men?

  it is used to work the average jehovah's witness into a sort of frenzy and keep them there.

  Some people feeling down need to be encouraged that the 'end is coming soon'; others wouldn't be caught dead in the k.h. if it weren't for that twist of reality.

  This "sense of urgency" tries to collect as many as possible from both sides of the spectrum.

  Another example of emotional pleas which have little basis in objective reasoning.

  i met my boyfriend when i was 15--i am 20 now.

  we couldn't help falling in love, and we both made extreme sacrifices to be together.

  I would like to save my ex-gf also. Thanks for the encouragement, Sunbeam. Although I don't believe I would be ready to marry her. Too many hurt feelings there I think.

  Larc,

  It looks like I was just restating your #1 reason. I think that was the biggie.

  While the sisters do tend to be horny (no offense, horny sisters), the faithful, baptized type are quite unlikely to actively pursue sex. If I am wrong, then all of you horny but faithful and baptized sisters please e-mail me.

  (The pic in suit and tie is to entice any of those who may be lurking out there...I look like a nice brother, don't I?)

  Personally, I don't know which is worse: to have sex with the 'fringe' JW sisters or the 'active' JW sisters.

  I definitely prefer the mentality of the latter over the former. I question the motives of those 'fringe' types.

  I sure didn't stick around the k.h. when I realized it was not my bag.
