Hambeaks Extremely Heartbreaking News

our friend hambeak just got the most dreaded phone call from his jw child.

the news was passed on as he was asked for by name and not as"dad" and let known that "they" just called to let him know that his other son, brian, age 26, is dead.

he was in a car accident.

i hate when people use the "i'm new here" excuse, and then do absolutely nothing to try and find out what you are inquiring about or at least transfer you to someone that can help.. what are some of your "customer service" pet peeves?.

Is it too much to ask that a person know who they're calling and what they're calling about?

Yes it is, because in our current climate of responsibiity denial, everything is somebody elses fault.

I have never worked in customer service but I cant imagine the frustration at having to deal with stupid angry people who have been put on hold for 34 minutes by an automated system that is nothing to do with the customer service persons fault, but he has to deal with its consequences.

I have actually cried with fustration by the time I have got through to customer services once.

My gripe is with young exam dodgers in shops who havent the first clue how to look a customer in the eye and say "I will be with you in a minute".

A year goes by

wow i've just realised that its been just over a year that i've been here, how time flies.

well i've had many ups and downs in life over that time, found new friends, learned a few important lessons and so on.

i feel much further away from the jw mindset than i was a year ago.

my friend's ex-husband was killed instantly in a car accident on sunday.

my daughter actually probably knew him better in recent years than i did, as she would accompany their daughter tori to his house on his weekends for four-wheeling, fishing, etc.

i have never been to a viewing before.

Astonishing Publisher Peak in Britain for August 2006

well i just got the new kingdom ministry for december and it has the publisher peak for august: 129,482!.

that is quite an amazing total when you compare it to the trend of recent years:.

2006 - 129,482. i wish i could produce a graph, but you get the picture - there has been a dramatic increase in the publisher peak number this year compared with the recent downward trend after the 1995 "generation" change and subsequent stagnation.

Also arent they sort of hinting at 120 years from 1914 (2034 - but WE didnt do the maths YOU did, so when it doesnt happen you cant blame US).

Thats just about near enough for people to get stressie bessie about it and rush out on field service again.

Now Linda is ill!!

first it was her mum in hospital, then it was me, just for a night, though i've been ordered to rest and given 6 weeks off work, and now linda (fullofdoubtnow) is ill. she has a really bad bout of flu, which started yesterday, and i expect she'll be in bed for a few days.

i just fed her some soup, which is about all she can manage at the moment, and she's gone back to sleep now.

she sends her love to everyone on the board,i expect she will be posting again in a few days, but for now, she's confined to bed..

Its her bodys way of forcing her to go to bed.

i am about halfway thru my third book.

The thing I hate about theives is that its anonymous. Id feel better if I could know who it was and shout abuse at them. Even if I couldnt get my stuff back. Wankers.

I have been robbed twice, and oddly the really minor one upset me more than the house break.
