  Pink Floyd founder Richard Wright & writer David Foster Wallace Dead

  two sad notes - just heard that pink floyd founder and keyboardist richard wright has died of cancer at 65. .

  also, a remarkable writer, david foster wallace, hung himself last friday.

  he was 46, gifted, and had long battled depression.

  Sad, but unfortunately everything come to an end sooner or later. At least they lived their lives to the fullest, with no regrets, never spending a moment in self-consuming doubts as to what is the right thing to do. Moment impulse came into their lives they recognized the truth of it and reacted accordingly leaving the legacy we see today. If they agonized over any song a moment longer we'd possibly have to settle today for a lesser version of their songs. They on the other hand didn't give a shit.

  When rest of "proper and respectful" people cried foul over their "we don't need no education" as to what impact it will have on kids going to school, they sang it anyway. And what did history prove? They were right all along, kids never stopped going to school but what really happened was awakening, a revolution of free speech which was the real message behind as seen in rest of the lyrics "we don't need no thought control". Perhaps that was the real reason "upper class" detested it so much. These were dangerous words that heralded revolution. A message for you and me in this is really simple, Recognize the moment in time and seize it.(you snooze, you lose) First impressions are driven by our instincts and are usually always true. Rest is just a bullshit piled up upon us by upper brain that is heavily influenced by our environment and our own self doubts.

  How many here went to pioneer school, and who were your instructors?

  i went in 1982, one of my instructors was bill baxter.

  i taught seven pioneer schools, but in another country.

  I did, back in 1993. The only thing I took away from it was this nagging feeling that all was over for me and sooner or later I would stop doing it – completely. And it happened exactly the way I saw it coming.

  I think crunch point was when an instructor in no uncertain terms said "we were to be humble and spineless (an invertebrate lacking a backbone) when talking to people". Need I say that was one of the main highlights? When I heard that something in me said ‘I can’t do it, J forgive me but I can’t’ All the while everyone one around me was having that hypnotizing look in their eyes and creepy aka joker smiles on their faces.

  yes of course, many times. It is not only about the things being discussed but you get to meet a lot of like-minded people. For boys if you love intelligent women you should definitely give it a go, you'd be surprised how many you find in one place.

  But other than that you are in touch with latest developments in various fields. In fact there is a lecture about ancient Sudan that I'm thinking of attending later in the evening.

  the fact that this event coincides with a major natural disaster hitting the us is, according to my parents, 100% conclusive proof that armaggedon has in fact begun.

  it is a "resurrection hope" for us atheists, not sure it works though. I think human body has that "use by date". You gonna loose it anyway so might as well use it while you can before it starts to rot. You can put a rotting piece of meat into a deep freezer, it will stop bacteria destroying it alright. But would you feel comfortable taking it out and putting it on a barbecue? I doubt process can be reversed. Not to mention ice crystals eventually destroying cells anyway. Hope they find way to fix it but I can't see how.

  ... as for dubs they probably see that as a competition lol
