.. or maybe he was the first one to walk the plank ...
Arrrrrrrgh
really, folks...if noah lived to be 950 years old, does it stand to reason that he would only have 3 children????.
in irish mythology, cessair (or ceasair) was the leader of the first inhabitants of ireland before the biblicalflood, in what may be a christianisation of a legend that pre-dates the conversion, but may alternatively be the product of post-conversion pseudohistory.. she was daughter of noah's son bith and his wife birren.
according to legend, when her father was denied a place in the ark by noah, cessair advised him to build an idol.
.. or maybe he was the first one to walk the plank ...
Arrrrrrrgh

i was an elder many years and only sat in on one case of marital infedilty.
since there was a confession in this instance.
we didn't need to know anything about the "act" (and none of us really wanted to know).
maybe giving an elder's wife a penetrative look
i love inspirational quotes.
i read through them from time to time and i always feel better after sharing the thoughts of yesterday and today's greatest minds.
"if one advances confidently in the direction of his dreams and endeavors to live the life which he has imagined, he will meet with success unexpected in common hours.
oh I love these...
"A successful man is one who makes more money than his wife can spend. A successful woman is one who can find such a man"
"Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity; and I'm not sure about the universe." - gotta be true, it came from Einsten ;)
"Beauty lies in the eye of the beer holder."
"Middle Age is when your age starts to show around your middle"
coolest day ever!

a newly published article by british sociologist david voas argues jehovah's witnesses may be about to experience a collapse in numbers.
contrary to claims by american sociologist rodney stark who predicts strong future growth for jehovah's witnesses, voas shows that jehovah's witnesses' efforts at recruiting new members have become increasingly unsuccessful over the past few decades: the rate of increase has steadily declined, and the number of hours each publisher must preach to produce an extra convert has gone up substantially.
voas suggests a reason for the stagnation may be that there is a natural limit to the number of people in a given population that are susceptible to conversion to sectarian groups like jehovah's witnesses - the 'carrying capacity' of the population, and that the limit has largely been reached.
Interesting argument, only time will tell. There are many factors at play here that are not stagnant but constantly in flux and changing. At time of any crisis or chaos people tend to look for certainty and something percieved as "real" to hold on to, it is in human nature. But once crisis subsides or they move away just far enough to be able to look at it from some distance you usually see a sharp drop in interest. So I guess the bigger question is how long this crisis is going to last. Another factor like pointed out is how many are already suseptable, bearing in mind again that suseptibility increases with crisis experienced by an individual.
But I don't see as likely that people are suddenly going to flock to Kingdom Halls, if anything overall churches accross the board may see a temporary rise in attendance.
some of you are in dream marriages and some of you are in or have been in marriages from the pit of hell.
my question for today, boys and girls, is: have any of you had a spouse that has never been wrong, ever, in life?
to hear them tell it, that is.. anything that is wrong is not their fault (but most likely yours).
Anything that is wrong is not their fault (but most likely yours). Anything that isn't working right is due to something you did or didn't do. Furthermore, the world would be a better place if everyone was like them. They've never had to apologize (to you or anything else) for anything, because they've never done anything wrong.
Haha, yup you could say that again. Doesn't have to be only marriage but any kind of relationship with people can easily fit this. I've learned my lesson with that one alright. Sometimes you are being a gentleman and don't want to point something obvious to them hoping they would be able to see it. Unfortunately, people like that are so full of themselves that they interpret that as a sign of your stupidity and their superiority. It is one of those 'close encounter of the third kind', only thing missing in it is background music from The Twilight Zone
i allway wore very short "military" style haircut.
allways was viewed as a bad association by dubs, once one dub told me directly: well i think your hair is rather to short brother!
i told him i dont think so and left.
Not for a haircut but lack of it. And funny thing was I was only a teen at the time not even attending meetings. But somehow because my mom was a witness they thought that gave them a jurisdiction over my hairdo.
