Yup I've got you mate, everything you need is already in you, you don't need anything or anyone for that matter to feel complete. Once people wake up to that realization it is liberating more than being "born again" whatever that is. Sadly, I'd say 99% of people are too trapped inside this prison called their own mind to even dare to see the world with eyes of complete, uninhibited freedom.

- of course the internet is free for all and everyone has a right to their say, i appreciate that, and i am also aware that there are a lot of people who dont believe particulatly but do not want to rock the boat of their life - its easier to just take a backseat (though in my experience that made me ill in the end).
but i have noticed as i read, that there are some advocates for the organization who are active, practicing and believe it fully.. i was a jw for 25 years and in that time, bad association was mentioned constantly and then especially in the last ten years, the dangers of the internet and the warnings to witnesses not to surf or interact with websites that had an affiliation with jws unless it was the official watchtower.borg site.. now, correct me if i am wrong, but if people are active, practicing and believe it fully, then why would they associate with dfd and dad people on these forums?
So how is it bad that they are here?? The very fact they are hanging around site like this tells you something. There are issues deep down, unspoken issues. Perhaps some are at the stage of "prove me wrong", and are using "logic" of wtbs to see if it stands open scrutiny, and then there might be those who genuinly still believe wtbs theology, at least partly.
The fact is, this is precisely why a site like this one is needed. IF everyone had left wtbs after a while site would lose its purpose (other than for socializing puproses perhaps, though if this is the only socializing people have then that in itself is somewhat disturbing, at least to me)
The thing is if we are frustrated with lost years and watchtower corporation let not turn our fire against those still trapped, at least not unless we want to play into wtbs mind-fuck (forgive my French) and thereby push those people even deeper into the jaws of the monster. Don't forget too that there are lots of those who frequent this site even if not commenting, they are eagerly reading commentaries to see which argument prevails.

Well yet again I'm inspired by TED endeavors, Instead fighting religion openly and thereby alienating a large portion of population, they are finding ways that appeal to core principals of faith that hardly any religion can find excuse not to adhere to. the fact of this letter, people are starting to wake up to religions influence?
I wouldn't raise my hopes high, that is one letter to editor out of 308 million Americans
Apparently figures are slightly declining as far as religious influence is concerend (often people only swapping religion they were born into for another) but if history is anything to go by as soon as we have any time of crisis you see upsurge of religiosity.
BTW, you've got a very Japanese nickname there, any reason for that? :) I'm trying to learn a bit of Japanese mainly cause of Japanese lady I've been seeing last few months, but I think I'll keep learning it regardless, very nice language.

CoCo, I didn't know you were from SF, next time I'm there I'll get you out of the 'box' for a nice drive through Alexander Valley for some Vino sampling. You are a good man mate. I hear you when you speak of boxes. I used to do lots of crazy stuff in aftermath of my wtbs exist just to get out of the 'boxes' thinking where I go and what I do would make a difference always looking for solutions elsewhere, out there somewhere just not here, until one morning some six months ago I woke up turned on telly and watched commercial on National Geographic saying "the past is in the past, what we do now determines who we truly are" As crazy as it sound it was one of those wtf moments when things suddenly become clear. The box we need to get out of is in our own minds, basically there isn't one unless we see it. You can as well be on Alcatraz Island and be more free than someone living under the blue sky. Mind you, Sonoma County is absolutely gorgeous and I wouldn't mind relocating there and make a nice box of a house under a blue sky ;)

i used to work with patients who suffered from severe schiofrenia etc, they would claim that they were god, son of god, gods mesanger etc.. of course they were highly medicated and put in a place where they would be taken care of.
it was a rough section of the hospital to be put, in fact the chances of making it through a shift with uniform undamaged were silm and there was porters ( guards) behind each locked door.
You reckon this spirit is strong enough to make cat hear voices? such a chemical imbalance gotta have an effect on this poor soul

I don't think people who had "visions of heavens" really died. What many of them experienced sounds very much like lucid dreams. The very fact that they've been brought back means they haven't died. Brain was still doing something. All so called post-death experiences are just brain still fighting and firing neurons. I hate to agree with wtbs on something but really there is no soul otherwise every single person out there would report exactly the same experience and not only a loud minority, which is statistically to be expected anyway but not significant enough to be taken seriously.

i'd like to point out that men do even more irrating and inexplicable things than women.... 1) not wanting to ask for directions.

These posts are hilarious. Haven't been here in a long while so here we go. Both sexes have their idiosyncrasies which is exactly what makes them interesting. Imagine what life would be like if your husband was a perfect puppy in everything... I guess eventually you'd get so bored of him that you'd let him off the leash to be run over by a first incoming car. Of course you would, so stop bitching about it and lying to yourself. What excites a woman is a real man with all his little devilish rough edges, likewise what attracts a man is a real woman with all her girlish notions of 'romance' etc.

I watched it last year, a very powerful doco for sure and very sobering. Nothing to do with
religion sorry to dissappoint religious buffs but otherwise a must see.
