I wouldn’t be surprised a bit. That just show how naïve they were when they were strongly “encouraging” young ones not to attend colleges and universities. It also show how much smarter Mormons were in that regard, they even have their own universities.
I mean what a hell do they now expect from manual laborers who are struggling to even feed their families let alone to support multi-billion dollars empire, I mean give me a break.

Is the Watchtower hurting financially?
by truthseeker inwhile surfing e-watchman's paradise forum, i clicked on one of the topics i never go to, "our meetings & assemblies" and found an interesting post on the wt bleeding financially.. it was posted 3 months ago.. http://e-jehovahs-witnesses.com/viewtopic.php?t=2888&postdays=0&postorder=asc&&start=0.
in my neck of the woods (which shall remain anonymous) the do and co have been circulating the rumour that the watchtower society is in financial straights and is being bled dry.
this must be very pressing.

Read any good books lately?
by chrissy inso, i will be down and out for awhile after a little surgery this week and i am trying to get a few books to keep myself amused and i am looking for suggestions on something you may have read recently and enjoyed.
i prefer non-fiction, but will consider reading anything highly recommended, as long as it contains at least a spark of truth.
well, i will recommend a book to you alla few days ago, i finished reading into the wild by jon krakauera biographical story about a young man who, after graduating college, got rid of all of his belongings and hitch-hiked across the country in search of jack london-esque adventures.

Jehovah saved Michael Jackson!?
by Gill inso, there i was quietly dropping off to sleep while listening to the news at 10 on the bbc last night.
suddenly, michael jackson had been found not guilty of everything, and fair enough, i'm no judge or jury so it's not up to me to say yay or nay.. then my eldest son rushes into the bedroom on the phone to his jw full time pioneer girl friend.. her father had just told her that michael jackson had given credit to jehovah, that if he should be found not guilty of these charges his great god jehovah is the one that saved him and the girls elder father was saying what a wonderful witness this is, letting everyone in the world hear jehovah's name.. the best i could mumble at the time was 'go away you bunch of freaks!'.
however, the ludicrousness of this has finally dawned on me this morning!.

right, could it be that jury had sympathy for him knowing that he grew up as a JW hence never really had chance to enjoy his childhood properly, which reflected later in life on his behavior?
BTW, had it swung other way then they’d said “that’s what happens when you leave Jehovah”

Exploitation of brothers & sisters
by LouBelle inin the past i visited bethel and got to 'tour' around.
here men & women worked their asses off every single day - a full 8 & 1/2 hours a day.
they had to make sure they were up at the crack of dawn to attend the reading of the day text.
