Most people have never learned how to examine evidence and wouldn't have a clue how to do it even if they saw one. So they go after majority's opinion or "feel" they are at the stage in life when they already "know" by heart what is probably the true and what is not. Which is fine if you are thinking about putting retaining wall behind your house or building a new doghouse, things get a wee bit more complicated when it comes to origin of life or alike.

Why do active witnesses frequent the site?
by jimakazi ini'm somewhat currious why active witnesses appear to frequent the site, and if the information on this site causes any to "fade away" or "dis-associate"?.
personally if i have known 18 years ago what i know now i would have been a lot more active in trying to convince all i cared about to leave, instead of fading away [gone with a bang so to speak].
it's funny how when you are in it you can't see it for what it is.

What I do find fascinating is that there are always hundreds more hits to any topic than there are actual replies. That tells me that many people are reading even though they may feel fear to engage in discussion or feel completely confused and need time to grow in knowledge. Heck, I was one of those up until few days ago. I was reading threads on and off. Then I'd run either to the library or to Amazon.com or even borg’s own CD before I've started seeing “new light”.

i could swallow the fact that only men were given main parts at the meeting (i wouldnt want them anyway) but that im humiliated every time i tried to give opinion or make a suggestion, is just beyond me.

Did Genesis indicate literal creation days?
by M.J. inthe wts and others say the 6 days of creation in genesis are symbolic of longer time periods, while many others insist that a proper (and uncompromising) exegis reveals literal days.
i have a hunch that the author literally meant what he wrote.
the jw counter-argument to this is that genesis was written by moses and moses wrote psalm 90, which reads in part (v4):.
