Funny you should talk about curry, I'm having a party at my place this next weekend and a couple of Indian lady friends are coming to help me prepare it and also show me how to use curry properly. Something tells me I should stick to doing pancakes but hey I'll give it a shot. Mind you some of recipes here sound interesting i.e. doable by meself. Last time I was at my best mate's place his wife made a really nice curry chicken with a bit of butter and hot chilly, it was hot as hell but otherwise heavenly ;)

hahaha, that was brilliant donny.
He is feeling embarassed and weak at the moment and of course there will be those that will try to use the opportunity to crush him even more. He'll do best not to comment on anything, after all people are intelligent enough to see what is going on for themselves. And I agree with jacquicortez, the only people who need to hear apology are his family in privacy of their own home. Somehow I don't think they feel good about themselves that the head of their family is being dragged through mud, if they do they are not family at all and therefore don't need to be apologized to. But somehow I don't think they do. All those people who are throwing rocks at Tiger are probably full of their own shit but hey its easier to see shit on someone else than on themselves.

As far as I know halls are actually owned by WTBS and not individual congregations. Which is rather funny set up. I remember years ago when congregation I was a part of needed to do some restoration work. If my memory serves me right there was also another congregation that needed money to build hall from ground up. So they borrowed money from "the society" at interest of course. And once money has been paid back who do you think owned the hall? WTBS again. There is no such a fail-proof set up anywhere in the world. Imagine borrowing money from the bank to build the house. You spend all you free time in building it, you spend years returning money to the bank and then in the end when its all paid out bank is still legitimate owner of the property.

JW's and home schooling?
by semelcred ini don't wish to offend any that are teaching their kids at home, but today i was again confronted by a situation where a jw family were home schooling.
the kids had little structure to their routine and without putting the mum down, she was no teacher in an academic sense.. the subject is close to my heart because my parents who are witnesses, took my younger brothers out of school and home tutored them.
the were subjected to below standard education and limited in social skills, particularly as my parents are crap at these skills themselves.. i have grown to hate home schooling except in the situation of medical or logistical situations.. what are your comments good or bad and do you think the option to home school is abused by the witness community?.

I don't know to what extent its used by witnesses. Home schooling can help a child who finds structure of regular school too hard to cope with, but requires high level of dedication and might I add knowledge from the parent or a guardian. It should be replaced with regular schooling as soon as it's convenient. I think JWs opt for that to "protect" kids and avoid socializing aspect of school life but in doing so cause more damage than good. I've seen too many witnesses who are incapable of getting their life together precisely because they were over protected. Its like with child illnesses. They give you imunity for the rest of your life and way it happens is by being exposed to those while you are a child. But if you were overprotected then you get to suffer as an adult and it ain't funny when you are struck with a childhood disease and usually you are sicklish for the rest of your life

Should a Christian see the movie "AVATAR"?

For me that movie was more of a political statement about U.S involvement in Iraq etc, projected on a cosmic scale. As for christians, they can get offended if they see themselves as far superiour to all those who are "not saved", because of their "different ways"...
And btw, my best friend is a Hindu. I've asked him about it and interestingly he finds Avatar's comparison to Hindu dieties about as similar to each other as rum balls are to those "his wife juggles every evening" (his words)....
Like always some people just don't see the line where Disney world ends and real begins.
