Too true Daystar, and I still cannot make out why defd comes on this site as he claims to be such a 'faithful witness', somewhere along the line he hasn't taken note of 'bad association spoils useful habits' because he keeps appearing on here!!! I have asked him and he doesn't answer. Do you think he counts his 'time' by coming on this site??? He certainly doesn't come on here with an open mind!!

Somethings just not true!
by defd inive been here for sometime now.
long enough to know that some peoples hatred toward th wtbts and some of its members are based on wrong information.
for instance: ive read on hear many times that the wt promotes the idea that everyone whos not a witness are not friend material or will be destroyed at armageddon.

Allow myself to introduce....myself
by pele38 ini must say, i never thought that i would see the day when i would find a site about disillusioned (mostly) jehovah's witnesses, but low and behold...one truly exists.
first let me start off by saying thank you to the creators of this site, and i'll have you know that i've been lurking for several days now and i am just finding the time to finally log on.
i've been a member of the borg for over 20 years now, been baptised for about 14 of those years and now i find myself in the most unusual of places.

Welcome Pele!!! This site will help you readjust to the 'real world'!! I agree with so much of what you say about the 'lack of love' in congregations. I remember folk may come up and say 'Hi, how are you' but you got the feeling they didn't really want to know and would be off to talk to someone else before you got chance to reply anyhow!
Anyway concentrate on enjoying your children and the freedom of your new life. You will never be without someone to talk to if you use this site! Its a loving, family feeling coming on here!!

My story - part One.
by diamondblue1974 ini have never posted my story on jwd and it was only recently that it occured to me that i should really make more of an effort to; here is the first part....sorry if its longwinded.... .
i was brought up in the borg from the age of 18 months old and as you can understand i have known little else.
previous to being in the truth my mother was an unwanted child and beaten by her mother, sure enough she fell into an abusive relationship with my father which left her with minus zero confidence and on the verge of a nervous breakdown; apparently my mum was considering throwing us both off a railway bridge she was that depressed and to her there was no point in living.

Well done Diamondblue! It can be painful reliving as you remember, but can also be therapeutic... just remember though, you have come out on top!!!! You can write your story now because you have survived!!!!

defd.... you really intrigue me!!! What are you doing on this site? is it a case of ex JW bashing? You say you would rather go to 5 hours of meetings a week????? instead of watching 4 hours of tv... mmmm and would you watch 4 hours of tv if the programmes were the same over and over and over and over again????? From my understanding the 'love of God' does not mean judging your fellow man! So go on tell me... why are you here?? Have you not heard that 'bad association spoils useful habits'???? Have you not read the 'organisations' literature warning you to avoid the internet???? look forward to your reply. Oh and why choose a silly name like 'defd'????

Weird Field Service Experiences
by PaulJ indid anyone have any really weird calls?
i remember one when i was aux pioneering- some guy said he belived in 'the book of the yellow man' which he said was based on the belief that aliens came to earth in a hot air balloon and created mankind... or something like that.
he was an odd chap.

I used to get the giggles really easily, in meetings and on ministry! When aux pioneering one time, really hot day, went to house with sis, there was a hanging basket... sis stands there and sudddenly a wasp starts to attack her!! she is twitching and flapping around and I am trying to look serious as I have pressed the door bell! Take the mags out of bag, look down at them... subject on cover was 'Mental Health' look at sis still twitching and flapping and just lost control!!!! so did she so thankfully no one answered the door!!! Couldn't work any more that day... just kept getting hysterical!!!

Being a JW mother, I really don't understand how these women do it.
by Dragonlady76 inwhile reading through some threads, i sometimes wonder what my life would have been like if i had stayed a jw and had kids.
i now have a 23 month old son, that's very active, i can not begin to imagine what torture it would be for both of us to attend meetings or go out in field service.
i would be expected to keep him still the whole time without toys, snacks, books or any sort of distraction at all, except maybe the my book of bible stories.

We had four children to take. As they got older it got harder, they did not want to be there! and would make all sorts of excuses not to go. I suffered from panic attacks, so they would almost be willing me to have one at KH so they could go home early! If I felt bad before we left then no one would go to the meetings, not even their dad! So the pressure was on me to ensure we all got there, which in turn made the panic attacks worse... Still don't know how I endured for 22 years! and worst of the worse was assemblies! Sitting in tiny football stadium seats (which lets face it were only meant to be sat in for a couple of hours at most!) either in baking hot sun, or wind and rain for 3 or 4 days! TORTURE!!!!

Could we be right, and they be right too?
by JH inis it possible that just about everything we say about the jw's on this forum is true, but on the other hand they would be the only true religion that god approves, even though they are imperfect and make errors?

Doesn;t that depend! on whether we are talking about the 'organisation' or the genuine people who go along week after week wanting to 'believe' that there is something better in life than the world as we see it. I was one of those people, I truly believed that what I was preaching to others was the 'truth'. But got disenchanted with the 'organisation' behind it all....

Did you take to the 'truth' in the first place? Maybe this subject has been covered before, remember I am a 'newbie', I just wanted some reason to have a quality of life and hope for the future? How about you? Look forward to reading your reasons.
