by mydearestfriends ini am currently organising a peaceful protest at bethel headquarters during april.
at this stage i intend to do so on my own; although anybody willing is welcome to join me.
it will take place april 17-19 .

I may join you, but I will have to be like those anonymous protesters of Scientoloy, for obvious reasons.
Make sure you call the press and have a statement to the press available. Hit all the key issues, there is a plethra of information on here to do so.
I support you a 100%.

The angst of dealing with family when they are still in and you are not...
by Layla33 ini don't think you ever truly make peace with it, somehow you learn to maneveur and swim in it like most things.
i have been out for so long, it's almost like a shadowy memory when i was in, but for my family it is all they have ever known and dared to know.. i feel for the people whose parents have cut them out completely, but mine never truly did that.
i guess we just loved each other a little too much to even think about losing the other completely.

I feel for the people whose parents have cut them out completely, but mine never truly did that. I guess we just loved each other a little too much to even think about losing the other completely. And that is the pain/angst. It's hard at times because I love these people so dearly, like my father, my grandparents, my siblings (who have mostly faded), that it is that one thing that is sometimes like the white elephant in the room, that sometimes I wish was different. To be honest, when it comes to decency, love, compassion, I can't think of too many people that top them. I have never attributed it to the JW religion, just who we are as people.
My father is coming to visit me. He's in, I'm DF'd for over 18 years. He stays with me, we go to dinner, enjoy the sites, laugh and talk like a father and his child. Sometimes he gets weepy and says, "I don't to lose you, I want to see you again..." And I feel for this man, I do. Not because I believe remotely in what he is saying, but because I KNOW he believes what he believes is right. Like my grandmother, who is like my second mother, we talk all the time and she is so excited to see me and we sit and we talk and we laugh like there is nothing else going on. For one moment out of the time, she will say, "when you going to come back to Jehovah?" and then I let the moment pass and we just continue to talk. But there are times, deep in my heart that I wish they could wake up.
I had a dream one night, that my father and my brother and mom and grandparents just realized how untrue everything was and we sat around celebrated a birthday and laughed without thinking about anything else. It felt so unbelievably true I woke up weeping, knowing it was just a dream. To know how intelligent reasonable and logical they are, especially my father and realize how much they let logic go on just this one thing, bothers me some times. Although most times I make peace with it and move on.
Does anyone else know what I am feeling? Have you ever felt like this?
(Just needed to vent a bit.)

It looks like I will become an elder this week!
by outofthebox inthat's right guys.
as i told you before, they boe have been considering me for the eldership.
which i don't care for, but since my family is stuck in this cult, i guess i can use the new position to help them see that the holy spirit has nothing to do with me being an elder.

I guess I am curious with everything you have admitted, why you would want to be involved and take this position? I can understand the pressures to still go for some because of the cult control, but I am curious about going to that level, no judgment, just curiousity really.

Well keep us posted, I could never stomach anything like that, but we need some "double agents" on the inside to help us with those still stuck in the crux of it all.
Be very very careful, but you already know that.
May the force be with you...

2 JW just came to my office!!!!
by thepackage ini work in a pretty large office building with several dubs ( i got a few of them jobs, not cause they where dubs but smart people), anyways, it's pretty obvious that i no longer go to meetings since i have a beard right now.
2 sisters came by my office and asked how i was doing and invited me to the memorial and a gathering after at one of their houses.
i thanked them for the invite and told them id pass since i already had plans for saturday.

I am sure they wrote that down as two hours in the field service. LOL
I am so glad that JWs don't work in my firm, if they started that preaching stuff, it would really be annoying.
Isn't it kind of sad when you know people are decent people, but just mind controlled and really believe they are doing the right thing?

Since we know the economy is in a crisis, how are you budgeting better?
by Layla33 ini thought it would be useful if we discussed ways we have tried to budget better and also save, and even be greener, if that is something you care about.
i have noticed substantial differences in my saving and budgeting and i am hoping maybe we can learn from each other.. food.
i did a sum of all the money i was spending going out a few days a week for lunch, and i just realized how much i could save by making my lunch and buying soups on sale for lunch for the week.

- Food. I did a sum of all the money I was spending going out a few days a week for lunch, and I just realized how much I could save by making my lunch and buying soups on sale for lunch for the week.
- Bottled water. I realized the water was bad, but I just absolutely stopped buying bottled water. Let's not even talk about the fact that some of the bottled water is just faucet water with a label, but you can get water just as good by getting a filter on your refrigerator or getting a brita filter. I use both and I saved a bundle.
- Entertainment. In my career and in the zone I work in, it's very easy to get into the routine of going out for business and pleasure after work. Happy hours on 10 restaurants within a two mile distance. I had to put a stop to it. Once a month or twice a month with friends, but I will say "no", stay home and watch a movie or do something that is absolutely free. Like Smithsonians or sitting in the park or doing a hike and packing a lunch.
- Cutting out all the needless driving. Planning to buy a hybrid next year. I am considering metro.
- I cash out some of my pay and put it away and do not think about it again. Emergency money that the banks can't touch.
Anyone else want to share their money saving tips? I am sure we can all learn from each other.

Stand up to them, get in their face and kick their ass, even if you lose, you let them know that you won't be pushed around. The only way bullies exist is because they get away with that crap. I can't stand bullies, and yes it is based on severe inferiority complexes and possibly abuse at home. But stand up to them, even if it is not physical and let them know, the days of bullying are now over.

was anyone ever told they would have been stoned to death by an elder?
by looloo ini was when i had an affair , but this elders pioneer daughter told me she understood why i had done it , i was feeling dreadfull and so guilt ridden but he said i should through myself at my hubs feet and beg forgiveness from him and had i lived 2000 years ago i would have been stoned to death !
the strange thing is a few years later this elder told me he had feelings for me , but he was married and old enough to be my dad , although i liked him as a person by then and had forgotten what he had said to me about being stoned to death, i was a bit annoyed that he told me not to tell anyone ,and yet was telling other people to tattle tale on others , i know he felt really bad about his feelings though and i did feel sorry for him , but asked him not to visit anymore as it made me feel guilty towards his wife , maybe it was gods way of getting him to see things from a wrong doers point of view ,as he had a reputation for being very harsh on wrong doers (like myself) maybe he makes a better elder nowadays after that insight , or maybe they think i was sent by satan to seduce a pioneer and an elder !
