What I find logical about religion is the need for some people to make sense of the world around them. We are inquisitive beings by nature, and when we see things in our world that follow certain patterns, we would like answers.
To me, religion is about "man" interpreting God and it is logical in itself. Now, the types of logic that some people use, becomes quite illogical over time in religion.
it has come to my attention ,that elders are now visiting some d/f folk.. to all elders that read this board.
i want a visit, from as many as possible..come in twos& threes, i would love to see you all again.

They did this to my aunt, who has been out for years, when she told them she wanted nothing to do with them, they used it against her when another family member died, it was a BIG SCENE.
Everytime I think about it, it makes me ill. I had to talk some sense into my aunt, who was so hurt, because even though she is out, and wants nothing to do with them, it still hurts her tremedously how they can be so cruel to her at times...
i wrote a u-tube reply to the jw nbc molestation case.
a dumb ass jw wote me the following e-mail in response!
"first of all boo, obviously something is wrong with you~!!!
What in the world? Boo? What is she in third grade??
Good responses, it sickens me how they try to cover up for themselves.
I watched this and was just blown away. I shared this video with everyone I could when it first came up, such an inspiration. His wife is so lovely. I always check on his progress once a week, hoping he is still around fighting his cancer.
It makes you really realize what's most important in life, and what isn't.
personally, i stayed at home (my wife went), made steaks, drank beer, and watched several vulgar/demonic movies in the world of the jw's (halloween, the eye, hitman, no country for old men, saw iv).
i later went over to my mother in laws house to meet up with some other in laws - who i saved from the jw's - and talked about how the memorial was a waste of f@cking time... then drank more beer waiting for my wife to come back...
Went to Target, went shopping, talked to some friends on the phone, surfed the net, made some homemade ice cream.
Different day, same ...

we should email every news outlet/online outlet we can think of.
attach a copy of the email sent and make some bad publicity for pbs.
Yes Layla I realize it is an authentic copyright violation....but if the clips were to stay up with the violation (which would be much easier for V) the only way to do it would be to make some sort of negative media mark about it.
Oh I totally understand, it is just that copyright holders can make a great deal of money off of this and they can rightfully sue V and legimently get a sizable monetary judgment. That is what I don't want to see. But if there's a chance something could work, that's great, I just don't want it to be at the expense of him in any way.
i have a handful of friends that are still dubs.
we have very little social contact, but i do get the occasional invite over or for golf, and they will still come over.
i may have mussed that up by not going.
Oompa it's not an easy situation, there is no black/white, you have to do what works for you and feels right. Doing something once and while won't kill you, it just depends on you and what type of message you want to send. There of plenty of people on here (some I find surprising) that still attend meetings, but for whatever reason they know it is not the truth. To me, just realizing it's crap and not something they believe is worth more than sitting up there for a half a meeting or whatever.
Just be true to yourself, that's all that matters in the end.

It is a copyright violation. If he must use it, just get permission. I like the idea, but it is someone else's intellectual property and you just can't use their information, not cite and get away it.
I am willing to help V in what way I can, but we have to be realistic as well.
i just did some searching and found one thing about cease-and-desist letters.
basically, they're not legally binding, but a threat of legal action.
now, for e-mail, the source of the message can be easily manipulated and falsified.
Cease and desist is the first step, but I really believe he should be prepared and educated on the laws of intellectual property. There is no doubt in my mind that the JW legal department is aware of "V" videos, they don't really want to spend any money, so they alerted these guys to using their material, and let them know it was a copyright infringement. I don't think a lawyer is officially involved, but I know enough about legal actions, that this may be the first stage - as in, send a strongly worded email with legal references, at this stage most people stop, if not, it is then up to them where it will go.
this notice was emailed to a third party who embeds watchtower comments videos on his blog:.

I think that guy that was posting those comments to V, that seemed like he was a attorney for the WTS, did this.
