  YOU'RE ALL GOING TO DIE!

  well, today i began to think there really was no point in trying to argue a point in a reasonable reasoning way with a jw, after all, there's non so blind as those who will not see.. i saw my, mother, again and we had a humungous scrap on the wtbts.

  she wanted to know if i expected her to return to the rcatholic church as that's the religion she originated in.

  she told me how she had been badly beaten by the nuns and that on one occasion when she had missed class and gone to the cinema instead she had received such a severe clobbering that she could barely sit down for a week.

  i have called many times in the past.

  this time i was calling for a sister that wanted to know the truth from the society.

  the brother from the information desk said they did join but realy they were tricked.

  So if the 'SPIRIT DIRECTED ORG' was tricked into becoming an NGO, I find myself thinking what else, what else has the wild beast been able to trick the 'ORG' into doing that hasnt been discovered yet ?

  Discipline or Child Abuse?

  i remember spanking my son when we used to attend meetings and conventions because he cried and just wouln't sit still.

  i was told that he had to be disciplined so he would learn to behave and learn what was being said from the platform.

  now that i look back i realize that that was child abuse and i feel so horrible about it.do you feel guilty for spanking your kids during meetings and conventions?

  If a husband or partner strikes his wife he is commitng an offence, the same as with a wife hitting a husband she is commiting an offence all your rights are protected.
  If I was too walk out in the street and spank someone to teach them a lesson I would be arrested for assulting them, even for a minor smack. If I walked into the street with a stick and hit them with it I would be arrested for a serious offence. I would love to know that makes some parents think that they have the right to hold these acts of violence over a child and excpect any kind of good result out of it. A child that is dragged up under the constant feeling of pure terror, that a bad deed will mean violence, will do no good to that child, in fact it will likely leave that child screwed up for the rest of its life.
  

  
  
  In my opinon any and all act of physical disapline should be outlawed there are more than enough different ways of show a child how to behave in a positive and non threating manner than assulting (spanking ) them.

  Letting thier actions give a thorough witness (a co-workers thoughts)....

  late last week i got a chance to give a good "anti-witness".

  there is a co-worker of mine who was raised around the org but never became one.

  she recently has studied off and on.. she knows a little about my situation, ie divorce finalized in the beginning of the year, actual process started last june.

  My younger brother came back from a convention in london (bows road). After the convention he said they all normally meet up for a good old piss up, but this time nearly all the pubs in the area had signs up saying ' No Jehovahs wittnesses'. Apparently the locals were my than sick of them taking over the pub.

  How do you feel, relieved or sad?

  ive been doing a bunch of reflecting and pondering> im just seeing if anyone else has been feeling this and/or if its common.

  relieved that i have a new found freedom, free to pursue goals and dreams i never could as a dub.

  free from the guilt, always feeling god is watching waiting from me to screw up so he can erase my name from the book of life.

  I was 15ish when i stopped going but i still remember the dream.Only it wasnt my dream, its like i had a false memory implanted and i still remember now that it didnt seem right that only certain people would live forever and rest would die. I feel relived that i know this is just a false hope put into jws heads but at the same time i feel sad that my childhood was stolen from me, and replaced with beatings at home, shame at school, and a f***ked up head for best part of 16 years.

  my wife is going to the assembly in salt lake city over the 4th of july weekend.

  anyone here condemned to that one?

  i heard they are going to have huge fireworks display to celebrate the 4th and.........well, maybe i didn't hear that.

  Can JW's take vacations.....from the truth?

  when jw's want a vacation, they have to go someplace to justify that they aren't at the hall.

  so often we hear that brother of sister "x" went to hawaii for 3 weeks, and everybody is happy.. but, if a jw doesn't have the money to take a real vacation, but just wants to take, lets say 3 weeks off, and stay at home without going to any meeting, can it be done without questions asked, just like the couple going to hawaii?.
