If someone already mentioned this, sorry. I read something once that said if you have nighttime sleep issues, then stop struggling to go to sleep(which is mentally wearing) and do something that makes you feel productive instead of desperate. Try to nap during the day if that works better. The general idea was that we all have different body rhythms and body clocks and we shouldn't fight them so much when they don't fit our 'schedule'.

Tylenol PM. I really only resorted to it a few times, but it worked with no unpleasant aftereffects. I don't have any chronic or desperate kinds of issues that way. After surgery when I don't want the hardcore meds is when I am likely to use it for a few nights until I can sleep without it.
*Note, I am a minimal drug user in any case, and the Tylenol PM was only so I didn't have to resort to narcotic pain meds which have had hallucinatory effects on me that is worse than pain.

So, the lesson I got from the whole thing is, protect your ties with your life if you want to have special privileges during the great tribulation. Oh, and you might survive armageddon if you don't wear dresses to the meetings. Maybe-but those women pretty much looked like death would be preferable to going to the meetings.

Is this the start of a change of policy regarding individual JWs preparing internet pages.
by joe134cd inthis is a quote of a quote taken from anthoney mathenia:.
" for organizations like the watchtower, absolute control of their message is paramount.
it will not even allow its own adherents to spread their good news online.

Network marketing is why they are (or will be) letting in the non jw.org sites in, looking independent of the WT, but mirroring it. Anyone in network marketing knows that its about PERSONAL relationships. If you can point someone to a "personal" congregation site, they are less likely to think they are getting sucked into a borg. So, it looks like it is from the Spring, Texas congregation then when people are looking at it, it seems more real, more personal, less CORPORATE. They will personalize them just enough to give the message that they want to-but it will really likely all morph into the same 'friendly, personal' site with links to the bigger site. Maybe elders could put up pictures of the congregants out in service or doing some (faked) community service, or the outside of the hall or inside during a meeting or a cong. picnic or something. But with no comments or anything thatis not corporately approved. Cause that is what it is all bout-the corporation.
All network marketers have personalized cookie cutter sites. It doesn't mean much in that world other than to expose folks to the product and give them a way to contact the marketer directly (or purchase from them).
They're JW.org ing the world now, but ultimately, I think congregataional sites linking to the corporate site will be the norm. Butthey will be strictly controlled.

Publisher Statistics
by lurkernomore ini was watching a couple videos on youtube earlier and always like to peruse the comments at the bottom of the page.. i'm no sure if this has been discussed recently, but one indivdual made the claim that the societies numbers are massively over inflated, as he/she believes that they include inactive, df'd and da'd in their figures.. does anyone have any information to confirm this or i this just another assumption made without evidence?.
(also has anyone heard from witnessmyfury lately?
i had a pm chat with him a few days ago but not had a reply to my latest msgs.

My mom came in because a JW woman who went to their door when she was a baby told my grandma that she would take her to church a few times a week to give her a break with her new baby. When the next new baby came, she brought my uncle, also. So, my mom went on the JW "church bus" from infancy (she was about a year old). Her mom never joined but went to some meetings. Her brother did join. My mom brought ONE person in that she knows of. Her next door neighbor/best friend (not through d2d service unless coffee morning gossip counts). My mom has no JW kids ever baptised. One friend-who got her husband (now an elder) and one kid out of two (also an elder, I think) in. I don' know their stats, but my mom, as much as she hates it, has been goin out in service regularly since she was baptised (well after 30) No suckers other than the neighbor to her credit and the neighbor was baptised before my mom was, so she probably doesn't even get credit for it. One of her sisters eventually gave in to family pressure (myriad family crises) and joined, left, joined, left, joined (ad infinitum) and now is a pioneer () The one brother, was totally a mess before he died. So, not one JW kid (or ex-none of the ex spouses are still JW). Just my mom and her sister. there may be a few shirttail relatives that still go to memorials, but none joined as a result of my mom though some did join. They are a whole other kettle of fish and the one that is still in killed a spouse and the mistress and her son killed his brother 'in a hunting accident'.
So, don't know how much happy happy joy joy I ever saw in the JW world, but I sure never saw anyone really come in because of FS unless you count the spiritual kidnapping that basically happened to my mom as an infant.ff

In Leviticus, God struck them dead-it wasn't their dad or anyone else who took it upon themselves to report it or be judge or jury. So MAYBE what some JW could comment on was that if God strikes down any of our (DF'd? Those guys were struck down while in good standing but had apparently done a wrong towards God) friends or relatives in a supernatural way, then we certainly should take that example and not mourn them. Because if you are seriously taking the Bible at face value, that is the face of it.

Are we nitpicking???
by jam injw's walk like this, they eat this way, they look like this,.

Some among us here are particularly nitpicky, but some are bitterly, particularly nitpicky. I'd watch out for the bitterness-it scars hearts, but the nitpicky stuff? Really, they ask for it. They constantly TRY to distinguish themselves and it is safe to say that many have done so to the nth degree! They are constantly pointing their own fingers at themselves saying "see how good we are" so we look and we see really, what they are. For the better (some JWs are great and not stamped out clones) and the worse (the clones or the even worse ones)

by jgnat intoday he kept bumping in to (or rather dodging and weaving from) fellow witnesses.
he's talking about returning but can't figure out a way to do it without enduring a fair amount of humiliation.

Excuse to not go back "All the raunchy carrying on that is going on in KH's these days prove to me that Jehovah's spirit is not with the organization anymore!
Excuse why he was gone and is now returning "I was stumbled by the fact that there was never anything enjoyable or fun going on in the congregation, just drudgery and talk about armageddon-but now from what I see online, you all dance and carry on in the halls. I am encouraged that theremight now be fun and laughter allowed in KH's! "
Just choose!

Did the organization admit declining growth and stagnation in today's watchtower?
by kneehighmiah indid anyone catch this quote?
"over seven and a half million witnesses of jehovah really have found him and they truly love him.".
why are they no longer touting "nearly 8 million" witnesses?
-
JWdaughter
I can't believe that there are 8 million people. It is growing and I really don't know what the appeal is now that I am out-it totally lacks appeal-I can't justify any reason to go into it if you start on the outside.
Kids-they are stuck, but grownups? Please.
