Im always afraid

people tell me all sorts of different opinions.

i seem to feel a constant feeling of dread and anxiety.

the possibility of god existing scares me but so does the possibility of him not.

LV101-my son's school doesn't even HAVE a real counselor. They just give you referrals to county or state agencies. He is actually in a generally excellent district, but the schools are not what they once were.

It is a great suggestion for those who actually have that access and I would hope that our young friend can fiind some good compassionate help from someone who knows and cares about him IRL. No matter how much his folks love him, their choices are hurting him now and their attitude about mental health will just exacerbate the present issue.

Hello. please tell an adult that you trust and let them help you, not a jw. if you have a regular doctor or another sensible adult irl please confide in them. Someone like Flipper could probably help with background on the org that would enlighten anyone who is assisting you and help to understand the implications of your seeking help outside your family/spiritual circle.

Don't be afraid. If there is no God, no worries. If there really is a loving God in the universe, he has enough sense to know you are young and struggling and figuring things out. I am a believer in a merciful god. I know there are many who do not but how you believe is something that will evolve more than monkeys as you grow and learn in life. Don't focus on how you believe about God-it doesn't change whatever the reality is. Focus on what you want out of your life (next 80 years or so) and think of how to best achieve your goals for family, education, career. Not just until you are 18, but until you are at least 96. Your choices now all build up to the results. You need to make sure that you are not spending the next 80 years living the life others choose for you-make choices for yourself and the family you want, the life you want. Do it in an honorable way because what we do counts for more than what we "believe".

If your parents have anything worthwhile in them, I hope they will help you.

Why bother creating all the other galaxies?

i'm still reading and researching the bible.

a thought occurred to me... the universe is so huge and full yet most of it cannot be seen by the naked human eye.. while jw's could claim that god created the stars to look pretty/ for navigation... what about the rest that cannot be seen?

the huge never ending mass of universe that the bronze age writers of the bible had no idea about?.

Most believers aren't fundy believers like JWs are.

Isn't it kind of arrogant to think that WE are the only reason that the universe exists? Or even that we are the only sentient beings in the universe? As noted, most of that universe is inaccessible to us.

yesterday a witness friend asks why i don't attend the k.h anymore.. me:- " i don't say this often but your j.ws opinion is wrong" .

the end.. my reasons for this simple reply were:-.

a) i have grown tied of reading j.w crap.

the royal commission published it's redress report today.

it is a 668 page document, but it is very interesting.

all the recommendations they make are in harmony with what all other institutions will accept.

I think the concern was less about who did it, than the institutional response towards the child and the law. There did not seem to be a lot of focus on the criminals as much as how the WT treated the victims and the reporting issues. I think the redress will be directed towards the current reporters although one hopes that the commission, if they can, will try to approach the earlier victims of the 1006 abusers.

Lumbar Puncture

i hate spinal treatment days.

my son is in sedation right now getting chemo into his spine.

the hospital and people here are amazing.

It is insanely difficult to watch ones child be in pain. Knowing that they are and you can't end the pain, knowing all the implications of what your child is going through is just added heartache. My thoughts are with you, your child and family.

My newborn had to get tons of invasive treatments 27 years ago. He is fine and ornery now, but just seeing the words "lumbar puncture" brought me right back to that day when he had to get one to check for a sepsis-which he had and overcame!! I only experienced 2 weeks of hell with that one (until he learned to ride motorcycles, but that is another subject).

I know cancer is a long term stress on you both. It won't ever really go away, even after remission. Hopefully that awareness will make you grateful for good things. I always hope that our struggles are recompensed by perspective to some degree. I don't know if that really happens, but I'm an optimist.

May your sons doctors have wisdom and compassion. I hope soon to hear that he is "in the clear"!

This is interesting.

Plain facts remain-still in JWs won't EVER ask for "redress", even if they claim that they were abused.

The WT will use this as a tool to claim persecution-it will be going to all churches, right? (other orgs too, but that is peripheral to their agenda). Yes, it is a skanky claim, but seriously, they have made those before, haven't they? They turned imprisonment of WT leaders into a fulfillment of bible prophecy! They have NO shame. Too, other churches/religious organizations may make similar claims.

This may indeed tie in with the new teachings about the rapture of the FDS and their tax free holdings in the cayman islands. Its all very convenient, is it not??

Watchtard Dancing Around the Word "Rapture"

there were so many things wrong with this weeks watchtower, its hard to pick one, but one that really bothered me was this watchtower business and their delivery.

i have never seen them quite have to explain something away like this in a study article like this before.

shows me they are battling people feeling confused.

I remember bible study with other christians. . . it never seemed like they were constantly revising and developing new doctrine-making it up as they go along-as the WT seems so inclined to do. Does it occur to them that stopping and thinking about the crap they spew so much would result in less crap spewing and "tacking"? They seem to be more confused than their followers.

Today's Special Day Assembly Expenses and the $10,499 Deficit. Silent Majority?

today i attended a one-day assembly in my hometown.

i knew when it came time to read the afternoon expenses that it would be an incredibly high and ridiculous amount that was nowhere near the real expenses for that day.

sure enough, after lunch came the announcement.

I am soooo impressed by the members of the circuit or whatever. 1,700 of them and only 500 donated? That means probably more than 1500 of them are waking up or at least not total idiots. If I'm not assuming too much by the utter lack of donations. JWs maybe are donating to actual needy people or taking care of their families an buying their kids some ice cream!!

i used to be jon preston.

now that i've escaped the watchtower i have much to report on.

in just a year i left the cult, started living, reset my kids' brains, had my spouse cheat, move to a new location, and started a new job.

Enjoy life without others influencing the way you look at it. Take off all the lenses of the world, WT or politicial or philosophical or ideological and just observe with normal, natural eyes. Its kinda crazy wonderful!!
