  Silent And Sweet Rebellion Going On Within JW Organization!

  after 1975, the vast majority remained as though nothing has happened.

  but some left the organization.

  however, there arose a third category who did not leave the organization, but brought a new view into their heart: jws are right in their core cause (gods kingdom as the solution to mankinds problems) but may or may not be right in their supplementary teachings, hence are not bothered about changes happening in this unimportant area..

  i'm a non-jw guy.. joined this forum 2 weeks ago to learn about jw.

  i enjoy the valuable intelligence, humor, and "community" it provides.. question:.

  it appears that a non-jw guy is "off limits" to a jw girl-gal.

  She's running scared. She will be considered weak if she dates outside of the religion and lose respect. She might lose privileges (if she is pioneering or something). She knows that you have different expectations of dating than a JW does and she is not (openly) up to that. She may be in reality, but standing to lose her family or standing in her community flips her out. She is afraid that you will seduce her out of the organization.She probably would LOVE an excuse to leave it, but has a lot to lose inside of it, so shes backing off.

  Don't waste your time. She will blame you for losing her family unless she comes to that decision (to leave the org) herself. If she stays in with you, she will always be trying to convert you-or her family will. You will have a weird family life and your kids will think Santa is really Satan. Its just a bad idea.

  I'm female and raised JW. I would never have CONSIDERED dating or marrying outside of my religion. It just isn't done if you are a good JW.

  83,000 theocratic facilites?

  a bethelite was telling me that there are 83,000 theocratic facilities world wide.

  he compared that to 35,000 mcdonalds and 21,000 starbucks roughly to show the size of the theocratic organization.

  i am not sure where the 83,000 comes from what would he be counting?

  In the US many congregations share, but do you think that in timbuktoo there are 3 congregations to a hall? How about that KH across the crocodile infested river? How much do you think the borg will get from selling those kingdom halls?

  They are no longer able to support printing in India without money from the US branch. Probably the US branch is happy they don't have to send any more down that particular drain. Wonder what will happen to JWs in India?

  Are Jehovah's Witnesses marriages even legit?

  i ask this because of the circumstances behind why they get married and who they get married by.

  i know people say that they are really in love, they love jehovah, etc, but are these marriages even legit.

  i've talked to older jw's sister who are now widowed, some of them say that they were trapped in a marriages.

  Marriage happens for a lot of reasons besides true love. They always have and always will. Bad marriages exist everywhere for many reasons too. Legit? Yeah. Desirable? Not for many. People stay for reasons that are their own. Sometimes we leave them for reasons others would not deem legit.

  Over-protective parent?

  i was something like 20-21 and there was this young sister, maybe 16 who i happened to like back in the day ... uh oh ...we met in the summer convention because i made the first move while she was playing board games with her friend.

  we kept in touch via skype and text messages because lived kinda far from each other.

  eventually her mother heard of the stuff and said to her daughter that the chatting must stop.... well, when two people have a little crush on one another, it sure doesn't.

  Culture, law, and moral codes vary in the us depending on the state, the religion or a current hot button issue.

  Some guy buying my daughter a shirt after I asked him to back off hits my mama nerve.

  Our recent ancestors often played by different rules, so do other cultures currently.

  A pedophile is an adult who is sexually excited by prepubescent children. Technically, that is not related in any way to the OPs post. Still men can be inappropriate, or stalkers, or grooming or abusive to post pubescent youg people. 50 almost and some men are still creeps. Some boys the same age as a girl can be a creeper.

  Law be darned, if an underage girl or boy's parent tells you to back off, you should Better Part of valour and all that. If there is anything real happening, the respect will stand you in good stead later.

  Nah. They dont have to make any announcements just because of AGM. They dont want to move in winter!

  Ok, I just think losing amateurs and family life will massively increase the pace. Time is money.Nyc is expensive. Paying expenses in two locations vs one is. Christmas in nyc is wonderful. Cant have that! Could be a special WT issue planned for oct about money again. Or is that nov? Well, nowadays, the traditional money grubbing issue doesnt constrain them from soliciting funds year round.

  They are making sure to just get professional level workers. They can run the work-much of it-24/7.

  Both things will make work go much faster. Few jws would complain about long or odd shifts.

  N family life removes a lot of distraction and drama and costs.Time and money savings. They have removed any idea of breaks for family outings.

  JWs have more good points than bad

  2) equal monthly pay to all members of the bethel community regardless of whether they are bc members or sweepers.

  this is something that still remains as an unattainable dream for the world.

  That avalanche for some is being made redundant after decades of service with wages equal to the GB. Nothing saved. No expensive gifts to pawn or sell. Do you think the GB will be cut off and told to come back and do the same stuff on a commuter basis with no salary? No social security? No home to live in? I don't think so. Tuxedo park Ny is $$$. They aren't commuting.

  When the social experiment gets the avalanche-thats when the class distinctions really show.

  Equal pay would have significance except for the fact that none of those folks are cold, hungry, unclothed. None of them are actually self supporting. They are supported by all the JWs who DO go to work for different salaries, with different abilities and different contributions. Some JWs are smarter and/or work harder, some are lazy and/or stupid. They contribute according to what they are willing to contribute and what they CAN contribute.

  If you aspire to communism or socialism, that is great. I don't.

  Most R &F bethelite JWs are not being given expensive watches, chauffered rides around town or any kind of authority. They sit, stand, speak when they are TOLD to. They have to leave when they are told with nothing. That is not what the world should aspire to, and if you really think that you want to live like that, then I think you are a very sad person. Unless you think you want to be a GB member. Then you are something else altogether in addition to being a very sad person.

  JW's? Lots of individual JWs have awesomely good points. More good than bad. It doesn't make the religion right. The same could be said for people in any faith or no faith group. A study showed that non-religious children are more altruistic than religious ones. It is true that JWs are specifically trained from birth that being generous to others (esp non JWs) is a particular waste of time and effort. They are birdfood, don'tcha know. That would not be one of the JW good points, btw.

  I'm glad you got out of a harmful way of life. You were ready to do so. Had some other group shown up at that time you might well be a mormon, muslim, baptist or catholic right now. My mom's mom got involved with JWs for free babysitting and my mom and her siblings went to meetings for regular indoctrination because their mom was literally old mother hubbard and meeting nights were her only break. True story. My mom started going to meetings at 2 and her siblings basically as soon as the next one was born until the last was left orphaned and left to be influenced by her eldest JW sister and her JW inclined aunt. My aunt(that youngest baby) has been in the org as if it were a revolving door. This round she is a pioneer. She could be a meth head again the next one. "Knowing Jehovah's ways from birth" have left her a confused mess. Well meaning. Good hearted. Mess. I hope for her sake it holds this time. 4th husband is nice and she drug him into the JWs so now he is a MS. He is like a male her without religion until now. Never been a mean druggie, but they both have a lot of demons to fight. Hoping that age has mellowed them.

  I don't intend to run down all your points, but they are simplistic and unsophisticated. Open your eyes. This isn't a 4th grade social studies report about why your religion is desirable or acceptable, it is real life.
