I have personal integrity. More now than then. I think going from door to door telling people untruths(while you don't fully believe it)shows less integrity.(I admire people who manage to be JWs and NOT be an effective witness for the org!) My conscience bothers me if I accidentally take home a pen that is intended to wander off with customers. I didn't learn integrity from the org. I learned it from watching my dad. And sometimes my mom. From reading the Bible, being raised in a nation that respects christian values. From the podium though, I learned that honesty has as much to do with who you are offering it to as anything else. Some people deserved it, others, not so much. I admire the renegade JWs who boldly claim that they smell a bad odor when the WT says something stinky.

DO YOU STILL HAVE PERSONAL INTEGRITY?
by juni infor most all of us here we have had association with the jehovah's witnesses in some way or another.
there are many man-made "rules" within the organization.
that fact we all agree on.

Celebrate-no. Associate-yes. Bare facts are not the whole story. And the past is not my concern.

I have always been in middle class cong.'s. One main cong. Everybody wore tacky JW clothes. after Bibles and bookbags, houses were prob. the biggest status symbol, and none were 'all that'. i met lots of nice people, and lots of power hungry jerks. People are people, even JWs.

RADICAL ELDERS WHO BROKE THE RULES - we salute you
by dannygwalsh inthought id inject a bit of light hearted humor , any stories of elders who were unorthodox in a witness way , .
there was one elder in the hall i used to attend called ronnie [edit] , who i still like and admire as a person to this day , he was always very outspoken when he didnt agree with the society on there policy and doctrines and was pra, ctically opposed to bethel service , i remember him giving a talk on applying for bethel service in the km many years ago , and at the end of the talk he said joking with a wry smile , i dont know why any of the brothers would want to do that , sounds like slave labour to me, also whe he was conducting the revelation book study , when it talked about the seven plagues of god being fulfilled in a wt convention in ohio in 1919 , he turned round and said , i dont know where the society get all this from , ... .
he also had a very distinctive voice spoken thru pursed lips in a rasp like voice saying thats just stupid , whenever he didnt agree with the society and other elders , a great man in spite of his beliefs , he was one of the elders on my jc who srongly opposed my disfellowshipping , but he was overuled- .

Brother "N" told us of all the shenanigans he remembered from pre-1975 days-including HIS OWN! It is one of the things that led me out, and I thank him for that-he knows who he is. Thanks Bob!!

It has been around for years. My Uncle and his ex-wife were involved in selling it, as well as many other multi-level opportunities. Tea tree oil is fine for what it is, much less expensive when not purchased through that company. It is just another Amway, JW thing, only not as successful. . .I would recommend you avoid it and other companies after that model. JMO.

"false religion"
by A Paduan inre: this tract business.
is it just me, or do other people hear this phrase as another 'jwism' (ie.
a stupid and confusive use of english language).

James 1:27 (IF you are a bible believer) states that "Religion that is pure and undefiled before God, the Father, is this: to care for orphans and widows in their distress, and to keep oneself unstained by the world." RSV. Would you call religion that is pure and undefiled true? Guess it depends on how one looks at it. I guess though, what you said makes sense in a secular world as a strict religion would not recognize others as having any validity-therefore if it is invalid, it is not 'true'. An invalid marriage-which is in fact not true, is not really a marriage at all.

I would fake it for my mom. I would not give them a minutes respect in the process. But I would fake it for my mom. And after she is gone, I would have names, numbers and dirt. Lots of it. Yes, I know I seem like a nice person, but I have an diabolical streak, and I will use it.

I just read an article about a young JW who is deaf and who is the star volleyball player on her team. The article was mostly about the line she walked being a faithful JW and a star on her team. . .since a big part of her religion is to make sure that she doesn't get a big head. Don't want to set one person above another, etc. But the GB guy gets an article in WT publications. She can't be 'big' for a couple of years on a high school team! God knows HS glories are usually minor and short lived. Let the kids have their glory days. Let our parents have people remembering THEM. This religion is sick on so many levels. I really loath it.
