I bought hull-free (actually very reduced) m/w popcorn for $25 from qvc. Its actually really good, but I feel very stupid for paying that much money just so I can enjoy popcorn w/0 dental issues. Then again, gotta have popcorn!

How soon, is too soon, to remarry after your spouse dies.
by free2beme inhas done so for years, and because of this, i know this elder a little too.
not that we are close friends now, but when we were witnesses in the 1990's, we were friends with him and his wife.
they had three children, all fully grown now, and had been married about thirty years.

It seems too soon, but we don't know the motivations or passions of other people. And if they are good for each other and to each other it will work out ok. He loved and took care of his wife-after death they have no further claim. Jws tend to be a bit matter of fact about these things sometimes, and he may just have thought he 'needs' to be married. Probably never learned to turn on the W/D and had run out of socks or soemthing. Or who knows. If it isn't a great passion and they are both older and mature and get it, they will probably make a good go of it.

Congratulations on your new baby. He is feisty! If he is anything as beautiful as his mom and big sis, you will have a handsome little guy. Enjoy him. Take a big baby whiff for me. I wish they could bottle it! (the good version!)

anyone feeling a wee bit guilty about celebrating Thanksgiving and Xmas??
by Star Moore ini was feeling a bit guilty about celebrating as this is my 1st year out and i know the history of all the holidays and birthdays are pagan or bloody or idolatrous.. .
but i was thinking that it's not what someone made them in the past but what they are right now.. to us, at this moment.
am i going to sit down on thanksgiving.. and say, "i hate those indians, think i'll go kill some"..????

In response to your subject line-NO! I am not doing anything against God, and in fact am in deep appreciation. If he takes that wrong, its on him! If intent matters, then no one in the US is gonna go to hell because they celebrate Christmas. If the worst it is to them is a secular holiday-nothing in the bible prohibits it. If they are thanking God, whats he got to complain about? And if they aren't, then all they are doing is overeating one day.

by smily inwell, things have moved on...my jw man has been agonizing over whether he should be seeing me or not?!
if i was a jw it would all be different?!
is that not like saying if i was not "black, american, german, white ect" surely this is racism of some kind?

You have a good opportunity to ACTUALLY study what they are saying and asking CRITICAL questions. You are NOT a JW so you have the freedom to question everything and ask about all the skeletons and expect an answer that is honest and way more than "you shouldn't be looking at the internet". Because you are free, you are independant and you have no obligation to those whom you are studying with. In addition, don't let them take some condescending type role where they imagine they have authority over you-don't allow them that. Good luck. (And if you say that-good luck- in front of them, they will make a JW type comment about it. At which point remind them that you have the freedom to say "Good luck" if you wish to, but they are equally free to NOT say it. It is inculcated JW rudeness that tries to control people and put them on their own page, rather than considering anyone elses as being valid.

I am part time now-20 hours a week. Most of my kids' lives I have been a SAHM or self employed. I miss those days, but whenever I have a day off, like today, I remember how that time gets filled with tasks-and it's not at all the soap opera and bon bon fantasy that some would make it out to be. Spent today on auto errands, licensing, bills, and basically spent my 'day off' driving and in lines waiting. Makes a workday seem kind of relaxing by comparison!
