  Witness behavior in my gym ....

  about two months ago two very attractive ladies in their mid 30's signed on at one of the gyms i belong to.

  for a while i noticed them watching me and naturally i assumed they were taking an interest in how i went about training my clients since many do before they decide to approach me and inquire about my services (i own a health and fitness consultancy).. sure enough one of them approached me a few weeks back and asked me for a business card, inquired about rates and various other aspects involved with signing on with me.

  i handed her a card and explained that my client schedule was full but she should consider signing on with one of my personal trainers who still had some open spots available.

  A friend that flirts openly with you though would not be a kind relationship to your wife. You had to shut that down and she forced you do do it quite firmly.

  To all husbands, JW or not, letting your wife know that you like and respect her is necessary. Be overt in other than sexual ways as well as the sexual. And yes, she needs more than to get the tell tell poke when you spoon to tell her that you love her. You could sleep with your dog or a tent full of men and wake up with morning wood. That doesn't make us feel particularly cherished:)

  Exposing one's identity. When?

  i've been toying with the idea of just coming out and posting my name and location as an attempt to be available to locals that secretly browse the forum that have known me for up to 25 years.

  ( "reaching out", so to speak ).

  i'm not da'd or df'd, so this most certainly could end in a dramatic confrontation.

  Hi Kairos,

  I hope your wife is ok. Ignore the dogs. I mean the elders. They are nothing. Just worry about your wife. I think you made your point with them. To pursue anything without necessity will just hurt your wife more-and yes, thats likely their goal. If they drop it, just drop it. Live your life. Be happy as your wife allows if she does allow it. She seems a bit fragile and I can see that situation itself becoming more difficult no matter what you do.I hope the best for you both. You are a cute couple, btw.

  OMG, I just posted an article about the WT's (and other religions) institutional response to child abuse and my mom is shunning me again. And I took it OFF the FB so she wouldn't. She still is, though. I'm not playing the game anymore. There is that.

  Those guys are both lying SOBs and I have never disrespected the org or the defenders as much as I do now. It is so undeniably ugly, and they are so undeniably lying their treadmarked tighty whities off!

  while i'm glad that the practices of the wts are under review and the australian commission is taking them to task, i'm not really expecting huge changes in the long run.

  oh, they may have to agree to some changes in how they report crimes brought to elders' attention, but this excitement over the supposed expose of wt practices shall pass, and jws will soon be canvassing neighborhoods and rolling their carts, looking for converts.

  conventions will go on.

  • I grew up when people had to be threatened to stop littering and smoking.
  • We were forced to buckle up under protest.
  • I saw aids discovery a+d lost a friend to it in 1991. Before good treatments.
  • Now gay marriage is legal.
  • Abortion was illegal when I was born. Activists on both sides are still struggling with that one.
  • I was born when breastfeeding was tacky and when I could not nurse my second child, I was castigated by strangers for bottle feeding her.

  None of those things came about without growing pains. As former JWss, none of us went from all in to OUT instantly. Whether others recognized it or not, a process happened that changed us.

  Finally, the truth is that the WT changes constantly whether they like it or not. They have to. Tax laws have changed them-they can try to tell the story that suits them, but they had to change and they did.

  What is their official explanation for not allowing beards?

  i ask because my gf, who knows all about my jw upbringing, convinced me to grow a goatee, just to see how it looks.

  we both decided it looked good so i decided to keep it.

  i tried to explain to her that as a jw, i wasn't allowed to grow one, but then drew a blank when she asked me why.

  Skirts, suits, briefcases. . .when I was a kid, the story was that it was businesslike attire. Back in the 70s people were big into dress for success corporate wear. Hippies wore beards, IBM exec did not sport beards or go without hose(seriously). Now, the business standard is comfy, Starbucks baristas and yahoo employees have benefits and beards. Techies wear sandals to work with shorts and make $200k a year. Businesslike attire is saved for special occasions. Like retirement parties, funerals and MLM meetings in hotels on Tuesdays. And JWs.

  how the things are going with my sister

  this morning i phoned my sister so as to know how the things are going with her problem with the congregation.

  if i remember well, five weeks ago, my sister was asked by the elders (in the street) to attend a judicial meeting for apostasy.

  my sister told them that she firstly needs a formal letter specifying who is accusing her.

  God, this makes me so sad. We have lost folks to suicide due to shunning right here on this board. People who have struggled for years with the consequences that the wtbts and Jehovah's witnesses engineer to hurt dissidents. How I wish the wtbts did not need to be threatened legally in order to act morally and ethically!

  pray for brother jackson of the governing body!.

  in todays news from australia it appears that, despite his previous declination to appear when invited, justice mcclellan from the australian royal commission on child sex abuse will officially summon brother geoffrey jackson to the stand after all.. ..... the commission was due to conclude its hearings into the jehovahs witnesses on wednesday but justice mcclellan said he will now call geoffrey jackson, a senior member of the churchs governing body in new york who is currently in australia, to appear next week.. .

  I love how mr. Stewart has a way of asking questions that are not accusatory and still their answers can only make them look like asses. or, he can make an inarguable, factual comment that demonstrates how demonic the practices are. One other thing, he is actually subtly showing how they interpret scripture in a way that is NOT the logical or reasonable way and certainly not correct.

  I love how MUCH he does not rush, I love his quiet self confident composed competence.

  Good qualities in a man generally!
