  Black vs white families - do they treat DF'ing differently?

  i know of someone that is a disfellowshipped black jw that has been df'd for 11 years.

  anyways, found out his mother never shunned him.

  never quit associating with him, never gave him a hard time, nothing.

  Thats an excellent point. I have never thought about how different cultures must treat disfellowshipping totally differently. I havent observed any disfellowshippings in latin families, but in the black families I saw this happen to, there was not nearly the amount of nastiness that the white families showed to their DFd relatives. But thinking back, this sounds kind of weird, but even though my hall was about 50/50 white/black, I would say 90% of the DFings were to white people!! weird.....

  Describe your first thoughts upon hearing the 1914 generation 'new light'

  we all remember where we were and what we were thinking during highly significant events....(e.g.

  9-11, jfk, etc)..... if you can recall, what were the first thoughts racing through your mind as you sat at the 1995 d.c. at the infamous 1914 generation change announcement, was it "the final nail in the coffin of your wts beliefs or did you engage in mental gymnastics to try to assimilate the "fresh meat in due season" lol....... i was in such shock at this announcement, i think my mind just blanked out for 10 minutes followed by: "ok, this really is it for me......they have duped us all along", i then immediately started thinking of my 90 year old jw grandmother sitting in the stadium, and what must have been going through her mind......

  Personally, I find it rather interesting that he was a mason, helps explain many of his theological and doctrinal positions.

  Wow, speaking of comprehension problems....

  anybody who can come to conclusion he was not a free mason after reading and examining the evidence is in utter denial of reality. I guess his constant use of masonic imagery in all his literature were just for decorative effects? Free masons were noted for their intense devotion to pyramidology as was Russell. One must examine the totality of evidence, not isolated fragments.

  My understanding that it was a 'sin directly against the holy spirit', but I never understood what that meant. My parents once told me if I ever directly defamed jehovahs name or 'lied' to god, that would be counted as totally unforgivable and I would be cast into the firey lake of gehenna!!! WHOO-HOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  reading the newspapers over the past few weeks i have become aware of a massive groundswell of disillusionment regarding the united nations.. comments such as: .

  while the isg report provides embarrassing reading for all those who actively participated in saddam's scam, the real victim is the un itself, whose claim to the moral high ground when confronting rogue regimes and dictators now lies in tatters.. .

  I had the chance several weeks ago to visit Russells grave in Pittsburgh where I saw for myself the pyramid gravestone adorned with the Masonic cross and crown emblems. More remarkable, he is buried a few hundred feet from a Masonic Temple located on the cemetery grounds!! We all know his early publications always featured masonic images on the covers, most notably the "winged globe".

  My question is to all JW apologists and lurkers out there: does it make sense to you that god would choose a prominent member of an occultic secret society to be his spokesperson on earth? How do justify the fact that the founder of "THE TRUTH" was steeped in pyramidology and masonic occultism??? The facts are right there my friends.
