  Brooklyn Says they Need 40,000 qualified Brotheres

  i just mentioned this in another post but thought i would start a new thread about it.

  my wife reminded me a few days ago that the bethel speaker at our convention stated that "the organization is in need of more than 40,000 qualified brothers to take the lead".

  this basically means that brooklyn is saying that every congregation in the world is down 1 - 1.5 qualified brothers(?

  Of course its only "brothers" they need!!!

  Perhaps the morons would be in less dire straits if they stopped treating their women like "Stepford Wives" and actually allowed them to be active participants in their power structure.

  However, given that they adhere to the archaic and primordial teachings of a nomadic tribe of desert dwellers written 2000 years ago, this evolution is unlikely to happen.

  the witnesses always said that at some point in time, it will be too late to join, the doors will be closed.. do you believe that will happen, or is it just to scare the witnesses?

  and what would trigger the watchtower to decide, it's too late?

  just because the watchtower society is wrong doesn't mean that there is no god, nor does it mean there is a god.

  it would interesting to now how former members have adjusted thier cosmology, or whether they are now atheists and why.

  i personally see religion as a more personal matter, rather than belonging to an organization.

  Having been "born in" to the borg, from my earliest recollections, I was skeptical of all things supernatural. I constantly asked questions as a child, had a naturally scientific inclination and demaned tangible proof of the "beliefs" other people tried to impose on me.

  As a career scientist in the life science domain, I am acutely aware that all subjective experiences may be explained at the level of neurophysiology, regardless of what "supernatural spin" we choose to put on our perceptions.

  People are either willing to question their belief systems or they are not by becoming educated about the scientific reality of the physical world (geological, biological and psychological). Once that is achieved, the blinders of superstition fall off like lead weights.

  i find it very interesting that the bible and mythology are very close, when speaking about god.

  also the statement made by god in the bible to worship no other god but him, in effect saying that there are others gods.

  has anyone actually looked into the occult, for lack of a better word, and actually made contact with an entity?

  Too big for my britches :S

  when i was in ny i didn't want to buy the cliche "i heart ny" t-shirt... so i got some boxers.

  there's just one small problem... i purchased them as "men's large" and before wearing them i put them through the wash, but they appear to have come out as a "woman's petite".

  any petite apostababes out there want a really nice pare of white boxers that say "i heart ny"?
