Do your elders know you participate in an apostate discussion board? I'm sure they would be interested, especially after all "active" JWs took an oath at last years DC to avoid internet chatrooms and discussion boards frequented by apostates.

As I've mentioned numerous times before, I have mormons in my family and they are just as whacked out as the JWs. Its the same sh*t, different pile.
Have you wondered why 90% of the posts on this thread have arrived at the same conclusion? Because ex-JWs, perhaps more than ANY OTHER group of humans on the
planet, KNOW a cult when they see one. Ironically, the same is true for ex-mormons, and I know quite a few of them as well.

Is there any Hope?
by Agnostic Front inhi guys, i'm hoping that you may be able to answer a question for me as you seem to have a pretty broad range of experience with the jws, about a year ago i met the most fantastic woman i've ever met, we 'clicked' straight away went on a few dates, held hands, cuddled in country pubs but i never got more than a peck on the lips when we said goodbye.
she soon informed me that she was a jw, i didn't really know anything about them except for when they knock on my door on a saturday, so i said ok, we'll deal with it.
she's adamant that we can't be together unless i'm a jw too, i know that this doesn't have to be the case but it's her decision.

I have 2 sons, one is 6'5 the other 6'1 and a wonderful husband 6'3. I also have two male Doberman Pinchers so I guess I am use to being defended no matter what I do.
Do you live in a trailer by any chance? Hiding from the WTS? WTF??? Are they going to pummel you with rolled up Watchtowers? Sounds a bit like paranoid delusional neurosis to me.

Gods Name
by lfcviking ini've often wondered about god's name 'jehovah' or 'yahweh', why is it that these are the only two acceptable translations of the tetragrammaton "yhwh" translated from the four hebrew consonants?
why is it that the society only implants the vowels that make the words 'jehovah' i.e(e,o and a) or 'yahweh' (a and e)?
surely the tetragrammaton can be pronounced several different ways with a mixture of different vowels.
