  Are you a Generalist or a Specialist

  i am definitely a generalist, i have a bit of interest in 1000 things.

  this is one of the reasons i have always been so unhappy, because i have attempted to force myself to be a specialist.

  it just doesn't work.

  I am a specialist. And yes, it is hell. There are many other things I would like to be doing, but simply cant afford the time.

  What celebrity do you look like?

  did anyone ever tell you that you look like someone on tv, a movie star, someone in professional sports?.

  a poster here said that i look like charles manson .

  The Global Picture of the Watchtower - what is it?

  the year 2005 has seen many thumbs down for the watchtower.. .

  in january they announced the awake!

  magazine would go monthly, beginning in 2006.. this past service year, the number of publishers in the united states may actually have gone down, according to latest km figures.. this month the society sued quotes for $100,000 claiming copyright infringement and embarassment.. reports have been circulating of po's trying to shut down jw sites on myspace.com.

  They managed to survive the "75" fiasco relatively intact, despite the temporary exodus of members. But the symptoms described above are much different...they point to a slow, decay, from the very core of the organization. They are getting older and older, not a single new idea or direction since 95. The watchtower and awake have been reduced to repetitive 'fluff' and have been running on auto-pilot for years......but the real source of their impending demise will be the internet. They know they cant fight information on this scale.

  Whats worse, they are in a complete catch-22 situation....if they were to make huge changes in their theology or lighten up on their "sky is falling" mindset, what reason could any normal person have for living that type of barren, dreary existence?

  after this weekend i'm off to the usa for 3 weeks (central florida).. i'm already thinking how much i'll miss reading your posts.

  anyway, i'll keep reading until tuesday, then i'll see you all in november.. i've been to florida before & i'll do the roller coasters etc in the main theme parks - anywhere else you think i should visit?

  Negativity is poo poo

  i used to think negativity was necessary in order to get a balanced view of a subject that i was analyzing.

  part of a critical thought process.

  i have decided that this is incorrect.

  what movies have you seen go so hand in hand with the wt to the point where you can use its storyline to explain to somebody what it is like being a jw.

  i used the movie "the island" with scarlett johnassen to explain it to a workmate.

  she completely understood what it is like being a jw it after i made the comparison.

  "THX-1138", George Lucas underrated first sci-fi film presents a good depiction of life inside the borg. Also, LOGANS RUN, a depiction of a "utopian" controlling society which strongly reminded my of the WTS mode of thinking.
