Crumpet, lets put it this way, he was such a far-right neo-conservative x-tian fundy wacko, he BELIEVED the "Tele-Tubbies" were a conspiracy by the "homosexual cabal" to recruit little children into the "homosexual lifestyle".......apparently he felt that "Tinkie Winkie" was clearly a homosexual, purse-carrying gay role model for impressionable young minds.....I kid you not.

Did you make a new religion for yourself?
by White Dove ini'm associating with a church that i like very much, however, i find some things hard to digest, like jesus resurrecting himself.
i think the father did that, not him.
anyway, i am thinking that i can just keep associating for social reasons and some religious ones while reading the bible and having my own beliefs based on how i understand the bible and not blindly believe doctrine just because a big church teaches it.

"My plan: Read the Bible and make a list of my new and old beliefs that I still want to keep and those that I just found."
The problem with this plan is that you have already limited your intellectual/philosophical growth to one specific book: the bible. Which, in all honesty, is but a copendium of fables cobbled together by a tribe of goat herders wandering through the desert 2000 years ago.
If you really want to expand your mind, try reading non-religious philosophy, or at the very least, other religious texts such as eastern religious traditions. You need to expand your mind beyond the judaeo-christian worldview, or real growth will simply be impossible.

IDENTITY=Behavior There are no CAUSELESS crimes or innocent evils
by Terry inwe often hear it said: love the sinner, but; hate the sin.. we try and reform the child molester.
we put career criminals through rehabiliation.
we let the drunk driver off with a fine and a warning over and over until an innocent family is wiped out.. why separate the deed from the doer?

"You see---I DISCOVERED what my true nature was ONLY at that moment. Had I had a violent nature the outcome would have been different."
Exactly! You freely admit you did not understand yourself or your underlying behavioural tendencies up until that point. There are no doubt millions of latent "killers" or "molesters" or what-have-you that have not become patent, simply due to the lack of environmental contingencies that would enable such behaviours from being manifest! In any case, I am willing to bet that simply tweaking the situation you describe slightly would have led to a totally different outcome.....i.e. if you had no choice but "kill or be killed", in all likelihood you would kill...it is an inbred human/animalistic survival tendency embedded deep within your biology. Does that mean you have a violent nature? Not necessarily, but it demonstrates you are fully capable of the ultimate act of violence, simply in response to specific environmental variables.
I would encourage you to read up on the old social psychology experiments of Zimbardo or Milgram for a fuller appreciation of how much environmental demands will alter your personality and resulting behaviours.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Milgram_experiment
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stanford_prison_experiment
Your own statement simply proves that behavioural manifestations of underlying personality "traits" are under the strict control of a fluctuating environment.
Personality is not static. Identity is not static. They are nebulous entities arising from complex neurobiological, physiological and genetic factors that are shaped by environmental variables in a constant state of flux.
Finally, re: Identity=behaviour? You continue to treat these as separate and dissociable phenomena, which they are not. They are two levels of human psychology that are inextricably bound to one another. My identity (personality) is largely the result of how others perceive me and treat me. This is particularly true during early childhood when the personality is being formed. Second, my behaviours INFORM my identity, and vice versa through my constant social interactions with the world around me.

Interesting Critique of Naturalism
by Perry innaturalism and ethics.
why is it that certain actions are morally right, others morally wrong, and some morally neutral?
where does the demand of normativity come from?

"I think most music is a propaganda of sorts."
Not sure what you mean by this. 99% of pop music is about sex and/or relationships, so I dont really see how that classifies as propaganda on any level. Some bands (and mostly limited to alternative genres such as punk or hard rock) take political stances, but this is really just a sub-genre of rock. In any case, these are merely the opinions of the artists, they are not attempting to change ones metaphysical understanding of the universe, nor are they talking about the eternal salvation of the soul.....
Whats left? Jazz, House, Trance, Techno, drum'n'bass, classical, all for the most part with no lyrics, only melody or beats. The message behind x-tian music is quite clear: Praise Jesus, or burn in hell!.....or did I miss something? LOL............

Why would anyone (except x-tians) want to listen to religious propaganda masquerading as "music" ?
Personally, I would rather be blindfolded, handcuffed to a chair while being forced to listen to the collected works of Yoko Ono before I would listen to "religious" music....the KingDumb Melodies were plenty enough for me! LOL........
