JW restrictions on sex, lead to over hype that made sex disappointing.
by free2beme ini remember being a teenager and my hormones were on overdrive.
the young witnesses i knew, male and female, were all feeling the same thing.
we would bring up sex, in one form or another, all the time.

?? I have only very rarely been disappointed with sex. But then, even raised as a JW, I didn't feel as much guilt about it as some did, apparently, and didn't date JW women, so there weren't as many hangups to deal with.

When you acquire the knowledge that this was a fraud,
when death becomes inevitable and the promise of ever-
lasting life on paradise earth turns up empty, when your
world turns upside down, and inside out, where do you
go from there? The WBTS sets up a false dilemma. There is no "where" to be. There is no "inside" or "outside", there is simply "being".
I found this out the hard way. I suspect we all do.
I hope I never stop growing as a person, learning, discovering. I hope I never find "the Truth". Therein lies stagnation, rigidity.

A question for Atheists
by Sam87 injust a quick question to the atheists on this board, i was just wondering if any of you have had any supernatural experiences?
for example the same thing that we wouldve called demons as jws?
if so has this changed your views on atheism?

Just a quick question to the Atheists on this board, i was just wondering if any of you have had any supernatural experiences? for example the same thing that we wouldve called demons as JWs? If so has this changed your views on Atheism? I know the question sort of cancels itself out, but i was just wondering what everyones view on this is.
Ok, well, I'm sort of atheist I suppose. I have had what some people would call "supernatural" experiences, though I think nowdays that I don't really understand what that word could mean.
Have I encountered demons? I have had an experience in which I was certain I was in communion with a number of "demons". They laughed and gibbered insanely, mocking me.
Has it changed my views on Atheism? No, I don't see why it should.

1. Can you get along with a person with a completely different religious belief than yours?
Sure, and do.
2. Would you even marry a person with a completely different belief than yours?
Sure, with qualifications.
3. Is the bible right when it says to marry in the lord only?
There is something to be said for this, but it should not be a hard and fast rule. Real love can overcome all sorts of silly boundaries.

Maybe There's a Heaven...
by LittleToe ini don't often open up discussions on my beliefs or experiences in life, but i feel a need, so please excuse me if you feel it untoward.
neither is this a poxy swan-song, i'm just opening up my heart a little.. today i had cause to reflect on a conversation i had with my [now ex-]wife shortly after my epithany.
everything was so new and unknown.

I think you know that you and I don't share the same metaphors, but I recognize the underlying force you are describing. Quite powerful. Heart chakra, tiphareth...

You mean, you forgot to censor yourself! *gasp*
Shocking. Try it again sometime. You might find that you like it. It does feel really good to tell people to f%*$ off on occasion.

If you experienced a supernatural event, could you convince anyone?
by free2beme ini can not remember anything in the bible, that said the book of revelations would be the end of god's word to man.
at the same time, i know there are many parts to the accounts in the bible, that were not put in or are not accepted as inspired by god.
with this in mind, what if your morning started like this;.

You are such a tease. How about you let us in on all sorts of other wonders that most of us will never be able to partake of?
