Not very funny unfortunately, but the only pics that remind me of the JWs are their own... thankfully:

i haven't read as much as i would like to, so i'd like to catch up on some reading, especially relating to female ex-jws.
i'm going to order "out of the cocoon" today.
has anyone read "the truth book" by joy castro, and if so, what should i expect from it?.
None of the recommendations I have are books directly related, but might apply nontheless, if only to help the unconscious perspective.
just think of all the fun work that he would have you doing after armageddon.. a devout jw has some thoughts on this.
are you able to read the following without getting ?.
reading between the lines shows just how much compassion the watchtower society instills in its devoted proponents:.
I always thought it was funny that they should have attached a rocket to the bottom of that cross...
And like that kid wouldn't have been scared to death... Yay! Everyone else is dead! Woopee!!
yay!
i was brought up as a j/w and my mum stopped going when i was a teenager.
i tried to get back into it as an adult but spent more time in the bible studies arguing, so i kind of realised after a few years it was going nowhere.. spent years just studying on my own cos i couldnt find a christian organisation i felt i agreed with and stayed clear of church cos of so called.
A good step to take, as far as I'm concerned, in further breaking free from the WBTS.
Make sure you never stop moving forward.
here i am, rocked you like a hurricane.

Johnnie Cash did a version of Personal Jesus? I will have to look that up as all I've heard is his version of NIN's "Hurt". ... ... ... *looking* ... ... ...
Oh hell ya!! - http://www.last.fm/music/Johnny+Cash/_/Personal+Jesus (just a preview)
Great selections guys and gals!
The first song that comes to mind is "The Immigrant Song" by Led Zeppelin... don't know why.
Circle Jerk's "Killing for Jesus" comes to mind.

it starts with learning something new that was not known before.
in the case of jehovah's witnesses, the individual is introduced.
It's almost as if you take a certain amount of pride in having spent 14 years as a Witness, such that it lends you an authoritative voice where jgnat has none?
I'll agree that someone who has no direct experience with the Witnesses will have little similarity of exact perspective. However, jgnat has been an "unbelieving mate" for some time now and her perspective is at least as valid as yours.
You do yourself a disservice by relegating her unique perspective to irrelevancy in your mind.
It is not something that you can experience through a
second or third party, nor something, that you can
read and find in a book.
I have been in the "trenches" and on the "front lines
of fire" with these people, and there is nothing
that can substitute or replace that experience.
I do see your point. Many parents feel that someone who has not had a child of their own cannot lend advice. It is true that I will take the advice of someone with no children with it in mind that, you know, they have no children. However, one who has had no children and yet is a school teacher... well, her advice will likely be better. My point is that while jgnat herself has not been a Witness, she has been very, very close and thus does have plenty to say worth listening to.
And... my point is more valid than yours because I was in for 18 years and was born and raised in, so there! (Of course, that is a ridiculous statement.)
i heard a new teaching from the public talk today that i'd never heard before.
the speaker asked a rhetorical question, asking if jehovah would be evil for killing 6 billion people during armageddon?
(yes, he actually said, killing 6 billion people) he then followed it up by saying 'yes!
"As it is in heaven, so shall it be upon the earth" or "as above, so below"...
As Jehovah is an anthropomorphism, and a monotheistic god, he necessarily represents all the possibilities, good/evil, light/dark, that exist within us. And here is the conundrum, that Satan must exist in order for God to be good. So the Witnesses really are a polytheistic religion, as are most Christian sects.
In any case, it would have been interesting to have this gentleman's talk on tape to, you know, pass around.
as many of you know, my twin daughters are jehovah's witnesses.
they refused to go to their grandmother's funeral last saturday.
this tuesday, they needed a co-signer for a car; so they called their dad.
I'm sorry and that really sucks, but...
"They're VOODOO PILLS!".
OMG! That is hilarious! "I say! A-boogabooga!! VOODOO!!"
