To invoke Godwin's Law, the Nazi's were hated by the world as well. So... did they fit the description of God's people?

PROOF THIS JW Religion COULD BE THE TRUE RELIGION
by Dark_Princess inwell in the bible it says said by jesus christ himself... that "the true religion will be the relgion everyone despises and hates.".
is this not the relgion of jehovahs witnesses?..
look in the bible itself it says in john 15:18-19. jesus says, "if the world hates you, you know it has hated me before it has hated you.

Fight like a disfellowshipped person. (scrapping hard)
by Sparkplug inlately i have been thinking.
there are things i want.
i am so tired of working so hard for goals just to watch the prize be taken by someone else who is only slightly interested in the finished product.

Excuse me whilst I kiss the sky!
Take what you want and let the rest fight for the scraps.

Should I just say no?
by hambeak inmy partners brother is being released from state prison on 12/7 and jake has to go to huntsville to pick him up.
i am cooking a big thanksgiving dinner and his mom wants me to duplicate it when the a**hole gets home and cook a big dinner for x-mas too.

3rd DWI, huh? Don't be an enabler.
I choose not to associate with anyone I please. We're not talking about a forced shunning of a dearly loved one here. We're talking about someone you simply don't want in your life. I see no problem with that.
I cleaned up my circle of friends a few years ago. All the ones who weren't going anywhere, who were always borrowing money from me, etc. ... gone. Sometimes you have to make tough decisions to improve your life. I now have many fewer friends, but they're good friends and the sort I want around me.
Birds of a feather flock together.

LOL! It's one thing to wax poetically and use such words. I've used some where they fit and will continue to. But I do laugh when someone uses such words outside of that context. And I don't laugh demeaningly. I just laugh... because I enjoy seeing people try to manipulate perceptions of themselves.
How many times have you heard an American use "whilst" or "methinks" seriously in conversation, face to face? Or how about "milady, I dost require thine hand whilst I dost prance gaily through thine lily, methinks I dost"?
It's simply a humorous affectation, IMO.

The Science of Belief
by LittleToe intime and again the refrain is heard that belief and science are mutually exclusive, that belief somehow corrupts good science, that belief is not empirical.
i'd like to throw another slant on that, if i may.. belief is an inherent part of the human psyche.
the desire to know more about our environment and how it all works is also an inherent part of our psyche.

Proplog, you're going to have to host that file somewhere on the internet where we can all access it.

I see a lot of that on here. I also see a lot of "ones" as in "young ones", which just about makes me spew, it is so JW-speak. Also, "methinks", which is rather silly, IMO, as it's an archaic usage. (I then wonder why these same people never use the past tense, "methought".)
"Whilst" and "while" are synonymous. Outside of a cultural norm as it may be in certain parts of the world, in the US it's also an archaic form.

This is mostly a delusional effort. How likely is it that you are fully who you really are to everyone around you? Not very.
How likely is it that a person will tell you what they really think about you? Not very.
Most people are too afraid of offending, either way.

The last time it came through Dallas, I wanted to, but it was a bit pricey.
The book is excellent.
