  I reject all teachings I judge as being bullshit. That would mean most of the WBTS teachings as well as many generally Christian teachings and teachings of other religions. At this point, I daily consider "Do what thou Wilt shall be the whole of the Law, Love is the Law, Love under Will" as primary.

  2 What doctrines do you still believe in?

  Doctrinally? Practically nothing. And I only say practically because nothing comes to mind, but there could be something, somewhere. I don't intend on putting too much thought to it.

  for 18 months i have been at loggerheads with my wife over the wts.

  she has been the perfect watchtower slave even declaring that she'll never leave the truth.

  i decided not to interfere in her life, attacking the society, and the idiots in the hall, but recently things have changed for the best.

  Do you still feel guilty, not going to the memorial?

  the first time i missed the memorial, i was sick and couldn't go, and felt guilty because that meeting was so important.. then another year, i missed again, this time i wasn't sick.

  i still felt guilty, because i still believed in the religion to a certain extent.

  i didn't go because i didn't want to go back to the meetings, and feel trapped once more.. maybe some feel guilty that they aren't doing anything for the memorial or easter, depending which religion you think is right, because after all jesus did say to remember him..

  I've gone to exactly one memorial in the last fifteen years. I took the girl I was dating at the time. It was a mistake. We both felt very... odd. We both wanted out of there just as quickly as we could make a break. Once it was over, we were out the door faster than anything. I think we had to go have some drinks.

  But that's not the reason I'd not go now. Their memorial is a corruption. Even so, I would be impelled to partake and we all know what a row that would cause.

  The series "Lost"

  i don't get to watch this series on it's scheduled night, but i do keep up by watching it on the internet.

  this year a lot has been revealed, but like always, a lot has not.

  basically it seems the island has some special powers, a box that gives you what ever you want, and people see this ben guy as a leader.

  It has yet to be definitely explained how the groups of Widmore, Dharma, and the Others relate to each other. Although at this point it does seem that the Others were the Hostiles mentioned in a recent episode. In other words, they were hostile to the Dharma Initiative. Are the Others a group that was there before Dharma, after Dharma, or are they a subset of Widmore and some Dharma people who wanted out? Are the Others all from Widmore Industries? We don't know the specifics of these 3 groups yet, but these are some theories.

  This is part of what I'm most interested in. I recall an episode or two back that someone, maybe it was "Patchie", the one that pretended to be the last Dharma, was really a Hostile, and got his brain turned into jelly for all his help, who said the Hostiles had been there way before the Dharma Initiative got there.

  Perhaps... they're philosophical descendants of the original inhabitants? Remember that four-toed statue?

  Here is my theory of the Others vs. Dharma people. The Others are decendants of Adam and Eve, who were on the Black Rock when it shipwrecked there. The only skeletons we found on the ship were of some who were shackled, and I think just one other one who was guarding the TNT. I think that shipwreck, Magnus Hanso being captain of that ship, caused a "Swiss Family Robinson" cenerio [sic] and that is why we see the houses and their "town". When Alvar went looking for Magnus' wreckage, he discovered the island and that is how Dharma got involved, but generations had already been developed on the island, thus Ben being there his whole life. Plus, other people have come accidentally to the island, and have either died because of it, or become one of them. I think when Alvar found the island and decided to set it up as testing facilities, he couldn't have known about the Others. I don't know, but it makes sense to me that the Black Rock started all the civilization there. Maybe the 4-toed statue is just from a native culture that lived there 100's of years before the Black Rock arrived.

  Interesting ideas...

  I was losing interest badly until the last two episodes this season... I'm glad to see they're getting back on track... for now.

  The "box" was a metaphor for the island, not a literal box.

  1> Probably due to a child's natural power of imagination and creativity, and the ease with which they're minds are molded. Dunno about ths signal fire.

  2> Security system. Unknown otherwise.

  3> Good question. But you're assuming they were all currently at their "town". I'm curious how the one that met up with the tail end so quickly was already wearing "Others" clothing. You know, the ripped up crap? Unless, you know, they were expecting them.

  4> A map of the island with its various sights... and sites... link, link, link and link...

  5> Doubtful any were sent home. Probably a bit brainwashed.

  6> They worked for Desmond's ex-fiance, who is looking for Desmond, whose father seems to have some sort of involvement with the Dharma Initiative or its... opponents (the hostiles).

  As I thought, Photoshop. She says she also uses ImageReady, and a WYSIWYG to check her work. (Didn't say which WYSIWYG, though I suspect Dreamweaver.)
