  i think the jws are the closest to being the true religion when you compare them to other organized religion.

  I remember that I felt that way for years after I left. It was only after I stopped referring to the New World Translation and to more accurate translations that I began to see the truth about the matter. What the WTS has done is to rewrite the rules to make themselves appear to have the "Truth". Once you wipe away all the nonsense the WTS has programmed into your mind and look at it all again as a child, you might see this.

  in fact, the only two groups of people who work in america anymore are white people, and mexicans.

  hell, they ("they" in this case being the govt., i gather, but i'm unclear on exactly what govt.

  It takes a long while to learn to breathe and sit back when the hackles go up.

  Erm... yes, I did mean hackles and not shackles.

  The rest, I wholeheartedly agree. Today, some fifteen years after leaving the Org, I still sometimes feel like a child in the world, learning to function properly in the real world.

  hi everyone, i'm new here......basically, i found this website a couple of weeks ago when i was in dire need of some like-minded souls who had felt screwed up about the jw's.

  from about the age of four/five, my parents and i were involved in the organisation, and all three of us are stil messed up because of it.....we are no longer involved in it, but it took quite a few years before my parents found the strength to leave.

  to begin with, i was quite a zealous jw, was baptised at twelve and disfellowshipped at fourteen, because as i got older i began to grow ''weak in the truth'' as people so kindly described me!

  You speak out of both sides of your mouth defd. You have a tendency to be forward thinking and condescending at the same time. What gives?

  Defd's is typical paranoid JW thinking. Anything that shows the Org in a bad light is thought to be a lie or at least suspect. Any ex-JW knows this.

  I think it must be a hard-wiring issue.

  
  Once a person's sensitivities are touched upon by key words or phrases, it seems some people turn off critical thinking and turn on reactionism.
  

  I am willing to bet that Vassago already had shackles up before reading the posting, just having seen the subject. Her reaction to the rest was pre-determined.

  We all fall into this trap on occasion.

  A question I've asked an elder as a kid, he never gave an answer

  the question was, "so if things are going to be returned to as they were in eden does that mean that we all are going to be naked again and that we won't need any clothing.".

  it is very uncomfortable thought for many dubs.

  it is not only to do with "immorality" as such (though many naturalists would vouch that it being naked has nothing to do with it anyway).

  I was never taught that specifically. How could we fulfill God's desire for us to "Be fruitful and become many and fill the earth"? I was told that since God wanted us to "fill the earth" and not to overfill it, there would come a time when no one would have children any more. My response was that I didn't think He would be so cruel as to remove from mankind the joy of having and raising children.

  i have read your posts and am suprised, shocked and disgusted at the fact you still are an active witness who goes to the meetings 70% of the time and at the same time go to apostefests and curse and talk bad about the truth.

  dont you know that the bible said people like you would quietly slip in the congregation and subvert the faith of some?

  But just as at one time mankind believed the most ridiculous things, attributing all sorts of supernatural characteristics to things we now understand as natural physical events, it is highly likely that we hold just as ridiculous beliefs about relatively scientifically unexplored phenomena today, and probably quite a few assumedly familiar phenomena.
