What's your favorite classical music?
by DanTheMan inof course beethoven's fifth is tops for me, and the ninth close behind.
also sprach zarathustra - strauss.
fanfare for the common man - aaron copeland (what a nice thing that was for him to dedicate such a great piece of music to plebeians like me *sniff*).

How many of you have...
by Tez inmet up with any of the others on here, or have found others on here that you knew as a jw?
-
daystar
I've not met any from here in person yet. And I don't know if there is anyone here I knew when I was a JW.
I'm hesitant to put my info out as my parents are still more or less active and I don't want to endure any more trouble there than I have to.

DID anyone have any `visions' that you knew of?
by badboy inwhether in the congregation or at bethel?

I had visions when I was in my late teens. But they were personal in nature rather than global.

Hmmm... I wonder, then, how many more things labelled as dangerous or even evil are really just demonized because they challenge ruling authority, of whatever persuasion?

The Red Planet is about to be spectacular!
by z inthis month and next, earth is catching up with mars in an encounter that.
> will culminate in the closest approach between the two planets in.

Is this a current event? Or is it just a regurgitation of what happened in 2003?

Don't Panic by Coldplay
Bones, sinking like stones,
All that we fought for,
Homes, places we've grown,
All of us are done for.
And we live in a beautiful world,
Yeah we do, yeah we do,
We live in a beautiful world,
Bones, sinking like stones,
All that we fought for,
And homes, places we've grown,
All of us are done for.
And we live in a beautiful world,
Yeah we do, yeah we do,
We live in a beautiful world.
And we live in a beautiful world,
Yeah we do, yeah we do,
We live in a beautiful world.
Oh, all that I know,
There's nothing here to run from,
Cos yeah, everybody here got somebody to lean on. -

Bad habits
by Satanus inthis thread isn't about spitting on the sidewalk or picking your nose in public.
i am talking about bad thinking habits.
ways of thinking that we learned in order to survive, bad ways of thinking that we learned because of wrong information/wrong beliefs that we had.

talesin, on the nose!
Ok, what else? Hard to keep eye contact with people. Head down when walking.
Procrastination is a very big one though. Also, tied in, fear of both failure and success, or perhaps just an unconscious disinterest in it.
It's pretty tough breaking through some of them.

Luckily I have not had to deal with this sort of person in a long time. There are cheapskate, bully types out there that will bellow there way into getting what they want.
In my opinion, you did the right thing. The reason why this guy acts this way is because he gets away with it, just like kids will do. Your colleagues should have backed up your decision.
In any case, I think you should try to forget about it. He has gotten what he wants. While you may be on his short list of people who aren't pushovers, it's not highly likely he'll do anything else.
