most of the jw young people that i have known are either inactive, irregular, or "out of the truth" completely.
very, very few are still associated as witnesses now.
are there any zealous young people out there anymore??
It seems that all but two JW kids with an unbelieving parent have left my old hall. The ones who have complete JW families are doing a better job of hanging in, naturally. I had one of those kids, an 18 year old, have the audacity to scowl at me, a middle ager, when I saw her at a store recently because I am inactive. I had always thought she was cool and just going through the motions because of her family but evidently not. Like the JW's say...."baby snakes grow up to be big snakes."

i just wanted to let you know, in case you didn't hear about it yet, that the silentlambs (jehovah's witness child abuse victims) are going to be interviewed tonight on "cbs evening news" (6:30 eastern time; 5:30 central time).. i believe child abuse survivors heidi and amber, and also bill bowen are going to appear on the program, but i am not 100% sure.. i saw the tv commercial for the interview, and the commercial said it was coming on tuesday, april 29th, 2003 on cbs evening news!.

i was called for jury duty recently.
i remember the days when the witnesses avoided this because of not wanting to "judge" people until "new light" made it ok to render this due to caesar.. i noticed a sister from my old cong.

Who knows whats on her mind and why she behaved like this?! I hope she is disfellowshipped and this might excuse her "wave off". But, if she did it to shoo you away from her holy presence now that you're inactive and bad association, oh the arrogance
As far as I know, jury duty for JW's is a no no. Perhaps she felt uneasy about her being there and you "catching" her.

a question for some of you x-elders or current elders what is the process to become an elder?.
are there questions like when you get baptized?
has anybody here ever turned down an offer to be an elder?
I would say the requirements are a pair of puckered lips and a brown nose.

Your post so touched me. Looking at the beautiful full moon on memorial night with my children has always been the biggest highlight of the evening. We have had similar conversations and affirmations of our love as we looked up in awe.

I have grown to hate the constant and various questions asked me by witnesses. It's usually not a real interest in you personally but a way to get info about your life so they can create *personalized* strategy in their theocratic warfare. They want you to believe they care with such questioning but I found them to be just nosy and intrusive as hell. I try to always be vague and turn it around and start asking them questions.
Teenyuck.....I can relate to the problems you have with your mom. Have you ever looked into any information about narcissistic parents? One sign is when a child(even as an adult) feels and has always felt "motherless". I have always felt that way about my mom. If anyone was the mother, is was me in our relationship. Might be interesting to look into.

i am reflecting over the years that i spent as a jehovah's witness today mark a decade and a half.
i find it incredible that i would come to this situation.

i have so many, i don't know where to start.
I never completely bought into the grandiose notion that God was dealing with mankind exclusively through the WBTS. I always felt that he would deal with people at a personal level, if he dealt with them at all. I gave them credit that they were trying hard to please God by the inane preaching work and constant "gathering together" but I never truly felt that this warranted their claims of being God's sole channel on earth. I viewed them as the religion closest to applying the scriptures but didn't feel the organization was inspired or worthy of any sort of diefication.
