That site is great. I thought this was interesting about Prince. He did some backward masking after the song Darling Nikki.The site says;
"The message itself has religious overtones, contrasting directly with the overtly-sexual "Darling Nikki" which precedes it. Was the reversal meant to invert the message itself, or was it meant to hide an apology?
"Hello. How are you? I'm fine 'cuz I know that the lord is coming soon. Coming, coming soon.""
So Prince was a JW all along, just posing to be a depraved sex starved Satan worshiper so he could get his Christian message out to the gullible teenagers.

Backward Masking
by bigmouth inif you're under about 30 this might not mean much to you but during the 80's and 90's there was always a heap of counsel on debasing music.it made you terrified to listen to anything except the brilliant kingdom melodies.
we had a big thing here in nz about music that had been recorded in such a way as to give some sort of demonic message in a subliminal way.we couldn't listen to stairway to heaven, hotel california and a host of other songs.ah hell!, we may as burn everything.but i found devo's whip it is masked and now i couldn't care less, great song.of course you could only check by turning your vinyl backwards.anyone get freaked out back then too?

A person that is a WTS slave can not see reason, nothing you say about Christmas trees is likely to convince her.
I think it better to say that you say you no longer believe the WTS is God's Organisation. Explain how once you understood that fact other things suddenly became so much clearer. If she wants to discuss if the WTS has the truth then that will be more interesting and beneficial.
Telling her before hand that you have a tree and are no longer a JW is important, otherwise she could be put in a very difficult situation when she arrives.

Good to hear you are fine, as i mentioned elsewhere, i would miss you not being around.
That being said, are you sure you prayed before driving? Oh, of course, when God doesn't answer other peoples prayers it is because they are on Satan's side, if he doesn't answer a JW's it is because he actually did answer it but in a way we don't recognise.
Maybe the truck was giving a bad impression in the Witnessing work, a van will look at lot more JWish. LOL -

Did Jehovah tell the first lie?
by nicolaou indid god lie to adam?
the watchtower, and in fairness all other christian groups, claim that satan told the first lie when he told eve, "you positively will not die".
but was it a lie?

Very interesting reasoning.
I have been wanting to ask a similar question. Why is there a tree of life if they were not already dieing?
There were two trees, but they are only told not to eat of the tree of knowledge. So they could eat from the tree of life. Maybe they died only because God kicked them out of Eden to prevent them from eating the tree of life, a tree necessary to eat from in order to stay immortal. In that case they would have been wise to eat from the tree of life before eating from the tree of knowledge. On the other hand maybe they had been eating from the tree of life, but it was necessary to continue eating from it for eternity in order not to die.
In addition, in a way Satan did tell the truth. Most religions do say that on death people go to heaven in a twinkling of an eye, that the soul does continue on forever. In that sense people do not die. If Adam and Ever get a resurrection as Russell believed, than they did not truly die as they do get to live forever anyway. -

Hypothetical situation...
by zanex insuppose for one minute that a disfellowshipped son that has been df'd for over 10 years and gone through al of the stages of emotional and mental departure that one goes through when leaving the agency..erg...society.
now that df'd son's father is an elder and his mother is the standard female figure within a jw marriage and neither one of them had any meaningful contact with their son for a long long time.
now this son has already given up on them long ago but now there have been some indications that things are changing...the father stepped down as an elder...the son heard that there were "spiritual issues" with them...and all of a sudden there have been emails from the parents as if they still consider themselves parents...eventhough the son has already more than moved on.

I think family is very important and so would recommend that you invite them back.... but..... be very careful to ensure that they truly want a relationship with you that has nothing to do with the WTS. Try to work out their motives first.
I would make it very clear that the only way you were able to cope with them shunning you was to consider them as dead and that you will not allow them back into you life if there is any hint that they will ever put you through that again.
Quite possibly your father needs help from you. It is very hard and unnatural for a parent to shun his family and he may be suffering great guilt. On top of that he may be going through all the turmoil that JWs go through when leaving the cult. You can guide him in how to leave the WTS through first hand experience. This only applies though if you can determine if he really is having serious doubts. But you will be running the risk of them going half way and then in a fit of FOG running back to the WTS leaving you worse off than you were before. -

Which of Franz's books is better, COC of CF?
by jwfacts inwhen i was rethinking the wts i did most of my research by going back to old books and steering clear of "apostate" material, so i knew the wrong dates, pyramids etc and made my mind up before reading any apostate sites.
when i finally read crisis of conscience i already knew a lot of the information in it, though i still really enjoyed it.
however, even after i knew the wts was a con i still did not have answers for some of the doctrines, like great crowd/other sheep and organisation.

Which book did you enjoy more? Which is best for a WTS believer to read first? -

Do you care if DefD stays a JW or not?
by AlmostAtheist indefd/derrick is a current-jw posting on this board.
he's been on for quite some time now, maybe not a year, but awhile.
many have tried to show him the many ways the watchtower doesn't live up to its claim of being god's organization, but he seems unflappable.. so where do you stand on him now?

I would be very disappointed if DefD deconverted. It is good to have the other side of the story. Someone needs to be the sacrificial lamb, upholding what they believe at all costs, refusing to be influenced by any sense of reason.
DefD makes me feel better about myself, as I still can not understand how I believed it for so long. It is good to see other people can know the facts and still hold on to their beliefs as I did for so long. -

When i was in bethel in the 90's it was 22 Aussie cents per issue. I dont know if that was variable costs or also included fixed costs like depn of the equipment. Anyway, that still is a saving of $84 million dollars a year, not counting shipping costs.
They need to increase the amount of Awakes as every Watchtower will still need a companion so the Awake will be offered twice as often at the doors. I am surprised that it dropped by so much. -

Agree with atypical, faking is easy and convincing.
For the final year that I went witnessing i went on other peoples RVs as much as i could so that i didn't have to say anything. At the door i just offered mags.
