Good to hear it went well. It sounds like you have a very understanding family.
I dont think you need to talk specifically to your family about what you know. The kids will ask questions from time to time and so you can give them casual answers. They will trust you are being honest with them.
I do think you should occasionally discuss things 'calmly' with your husband. He should read some of the information you know. He will say it is apostate, so go to sites like Wikipedia.org and non apostate places to prove the many wrong things of the JWs. I can lead you to a lot of facts and figures from non JW sources if you like. That way he will show if he is interested in knowing the truth, or will be an JW at all costs. Eventually you may be able to encourage your husband to read crisis of conscience.
Hope that helps.

How to explain, need some advice.
by PoppyR into give you some background, i'm married, two pre-teen boys.
i haven't been to meetings regularly for about a year, and not at all now for about 2 months.
previously we were all hit and miss, so it's only very recently that my boys have taken any notice.

the next guy that looks you in the eye (and is hot enough), go up and KISS HIM
Then level with your parents. "It is not the truth. I will never be a JW. I don't want to talk about it unless you can handle the truth. Oh, I love you and will always stick by you." -

I am sorry to hear your situation, it is very difficult and not much you can do about it. It is great that you have the bravery to stand up for truth.
I spent 10 years in your situation. Over the last year I made a complete break from meetings. The sad reality is that most of your family are not interested in truth. I have asked many of my family and it comes down to their fear of the unknown of leaving being far greater than wanting to know the truth. When that is the case there is nothing that you can do to change their minds.
To understand why this is it is worth reading http://www.jwfacts.com/index_files/cogdiss.htm by by Randall Watters.
It is worth keeping low, not making a scene so as not to get d/f. Hopefully your wife will listen to you and eventually realise the truth. -

I just had some fun with dubs at my door.
by JeffT inwhen i opened the door i was expecting the apartment maintance guy.
instead there were two guys with watchtowers.
one starts in on whatever his presentation was going to be and i stop him and say that i'm familiar with jehovah's witnesses, my wife has some witness relatives (true).

I find most JWs are clueless to their own teachings, beyond the most basic level. Most do not like many of the teachings so they believe what they want.
Few believe on JWs will be saved at armageddon, few believe Jesus is not their mediator. The Watchtower keeps their doctrinal statements sufficiently vague these days so the average skim reading dub never even finds out. Finally realised the value of being politically correct rather then bluntly truthful. -

What do you feel is truly and absolutely IMPOSSIBLE?
by AlmostAtheist ina friend of mine told me tonight that he believes something is impossible.
this happens to be a something that i feel is not only possible, but 100% proven beyond all doubt.
interesting.

I think it just makes you like everyone else. It is IMPOSSIBLE to know what is impossible. Everything we believe must be based on some assumption, there has to be an assumptive reference point to start from. I believe that the more dogmatic a person becomes about their beliefs, the less possible it is for them to recognise the assumptions they make.
To bring it back to JWs, the reason they are so positive that they are right is that their dogmatism blinds them from recognising the base assumptions they have made. -
