colleagues and relatives on there from all different backgrounds.
You can never win an argument with a true believer. You need to accept that your father has different views than you, even if you I understand why they are wrong.
The world has made tremendous strides against such ignorant thinking over the last hundred years and hopefully education with continue that advancement for upcoming generations.

researching online, i found that approximately 1% of the world's population is 90 years of age or older.
this means that, come 2015, there will still be around 70 million people who fit the bill of "now living" in 1925 and still living.
There may be millions still living, but current Watchtower doctrine is that they will all die at Armageddon. 1% of the 7 million JWs is only 70,000 that are potentially still alive and will never die.

I have to disagree. The Watchtower is constantly discussing how billions of people will die at Armageddon, and how evil the world is.
yes jesus is the way...and jWs is the only organization that recognizes this
Was that a joke? There are billions of Christians in the world that recognise Jesus as the way. Many Christian religions have stricter morals than JWs, if that is the standard you are judging by. In fact, the Watchtower demotes the role of Jesus when compared to other religions.
It seems from your comments that you have been raised as a JW, with very little knowledge about what other people think or believe. Religion is a product of where a person is born, so think about the logic of your belief that you happen to belong to the only true religion, simply as a fortune of where you were born. You would do well to study the origins of religion and of the Watchtower Society, and not through just the one sided presentations in the Watchtower, but from a variety of sources.

three elders meet with a young female that knows ttatt and is trying to get back into the jws for family reasons.
the audio also includes the three elders disagreeing and deliberating after she is dismissed from the room and then when they call her back in.
Elder 3 made interesting comments. It sounds like she was trying for reinstatement after only 3 months, and he was willing to reinstate her. He also said: Elder 3: "You know brothers get disfellowshipped from the Governing Body and..and things of that nature…um." He seemed quite realistic that the Holy Spirit was not guiding, and to err on the side of caution.

we have been searching the net trying to find the best, most successful way of splitting fire wood.. this guy puts the wood into a small tire, for safety, and it stays in one place.. just lois.

"Where else would I go?" is a thought stopping question that in dicates over reliance on the Organization, encouraged by the Watchtower:

What Peter actually said to Jesus at John 6:68 was "Lord, whom shall we go away to?" The first step is to understand the truth about the Watchtower Society and the difference between following Jesus and following a self promoted organization.
i have found that, since leaving jws, that few "wordly" people seem interested in hearing my escape story (although some certainly have shown great interest).
when i've mentioned that i used to be a jw and that i left, the reaction i've gotten on more than one occasion is a "oh i thought they were just a normal religion", and not only that, it's like they just weren't at all even open to the idea that jws could be a really strange and cultish group.
on these occasions, i felt a little lost for words trying to explain to people just how crazy jwism is, because there's so much crazy to tell about, where do you even start?.
I get that comment all the time. The conversation goes something like this:
Me "I was raised in a cult"
Them "Really! Which one?"

Well yes. They are fairly main stream, since there are 7 million on them, but they still exhibit all the qualities of a cult. The teachings are quite crazy. I was bought up being told I would never die. God will kill billions on people at Armageddon, but I was supposed to live forever. Can you imagine how difficult it was when I started to realise that the teachings were not true, and that I will die one day?

The worst thing about being a JW is that if you realise it is not the truth and you leave, you can be disfellowshipped. Then none of your friends or family are to ever speak to you again, except in an emergency. Almost 100,000 are disfellowshipped every year. That is particularly tough, since growing up you are not supposed to have friends that are not JWs; worldly people. So when I was disfellowshipped at the age of 35, I lost everyone. Virtually all my friends, and all my friends refused to have anything to do with me from that day forward.
That is shocking. I never realised what a terrible religion it is. Damn, if they ever come to my door I will let them know what I think about them. Oh my God, tell me more.

could they afford some nice things sometimes?.
-how much did they socialize with other witnesses, either those serving in other areas or those in their assignment, outside of meetings and service?

Remember it was the depression around that time, so people in general had very low standards of living, and pioneers even more so. In Tasmania (Australia) the roads were still mostly unsealed. Some of the old timers that I knew from that era had nothing but the clothes on their backs and would bicycle aroung Tasmania preaching. They would trade magazines for basic food, such as eggs and bread, and a place to stay the night.
There was an old couple in Parramatta (New South Wales) congregation, Bill Moore and his wife, that never had children. They were very poor, and had many stories about how they used to have an old car and did long pioneering trips. He would say how hard it was on them, but looked back fondly on it. I'm not sure at what age he settled down, but he did end up owning an old house and car by the time he retired.
again, i apologize to any who think i may be going overboard posting these letters, but i am hoping that i can help prepare others for the type of bombardment that they may face when dealing with mentally diseased witness parents who have no idea just how much control this cult has over them:.

i had the privilege of attending the convention this weekend for a second time and i must say that i enjoyed it more than the first.
Sad.
Were you counseled by someone <My Name Removed> because of a shortcoming and resented the counsel? Could you perhaps, have something in your home hindering Jehovah’s spirit? Or, could your thyroid have affected your reasoning?
They can never accept that you just started thinking for yourself.
