Franz in COC said it was 2/3 leave. Both the Pew report and Watchtower statistics agree with that figure.

What will you do to celebrate Oct 2 2014?
by jwfacts inlike most people reading this, i was convinced that by 2014 the new system would 'definitely' have been operating for at least a decade.
now that i know this is not going to be the case i am going to have to think of some way to recognise 100 years of wts let downs and failed predictions.
there is no point fretting over the past so i think it will be a good time to celebrate.

Wow, I've been posting of over 8 years.
The funny thing is that yesterday I totally forgot it was October 2nd and the 100th year anniversary of invisible reign.
There is no point fretting over the past so I think it will be a good time to celebrate. I am planning to "Party like it is 1999"
Quite coincidently, last night I did party like it was 1999. I went to a Veruca Salt concert and rocked on until 3:30am. Fortunately the world didn't end whilst I was out.

Why are you treated as mentally ill if you try to leave?
by wallievase ini would just like to know why people are always treated like you have to be depressed or have some type of serious mental issue if you try to leave?
you cant just leave because its not for you?.

The simple answer - to reinforce their own beliefs. They cannot accept that you don't believe anymore, because they then have to acknowledge that you may have some reasonable logic as to why not. So they rather say that you are leaving to justify following through with some sinful tendency, or because you are mentally ill.

They claim to have 9,000,000 studies which is 25,000 new ones a day. So 1000 a day from the web would still be inconsequential.

Aren't Watchtower literature trolleys and stands illegal?
by jwfacts inin many places it is illegal to set up a stand and sell things in public without council approval.
so why is it that jws can set up their trolleys in busy public areas without being asked to move on?
i saw this article this morning about muslims being asked to stop handing out leaflets in parramatta, because it is illegal.

Interesting Tim. I don't know if the rules are different in Australia, or if the Parramatta spokesperson was incorrect.

Cofty, great clip.
AnnOMaly, interesting but to be expected that this falls upon the publisher rather than the congregation or Watchtower organisation. In areas where there is a cost, I wonder how long the trolleys will be around. The one near my work was regularly in the mall, but has not been there for some time now. The novelty will wear off for publishers that have to buy a license to sit in places where no one ever comes over to talk.

Watchtower lawyers are usually on top of this type of thing, so would not surprise me if they have made sure they are in their legal rights. I do think councils should be encouraged to not give permission to religious groups pushing their agendas in such public ways. It is an eyesore and can be hazard in crowded places. Most people selling things usually need to set up a stall proper market places, not on crowded streets, malls and outside train stations
