New NWT deception at Genesis 8:22 to indicate earth remains forever.
by jwfacts ini could not find mention of this before.
i was reading genesis 8:22 in the niv and was surprised i had never noticed that this verse gives the impression that the earth will not remain forever.
genesis 8:22 stated by god after the flood, when promising to never again destroy all living creatures.. as long as the earth endures, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night will never cease.

Johnamos, I gave a link that discusses the OT Scriptures you refer to. They are recognized even by Watchtower as being poetic of the Jews. Shame you couldn't bother reading it. -

Another Up Building Field Service Experience

Better yet, tell your friend there (pointing at the silent woman next to her); I assume you consider her a friend right? Well tell her that you don't believe what the witnesses teach anymore. Watch how quickly your friendship evaporates. She'll never speak another word to you for as long as you live,
That was gold.

Johnamos, you are reading into Scriptures what is not there. For instance, how are you quoting Matthew 25:46 "And these will depart into everlasting cutting-off, but therighteous ones into everlasting life.” as discussing living forever on a paradise earth?
I discuss this topic at http://www.jwfacts.com/watchtower/earth-forever.php. I find it interesting that R Franz felt it was inconclusive whether people would live forever on earth or not. Personally, I feel the Bible strongly shows that there is no everlasting future for this planet, and the expectation of early Christians was heavenly.

Does Jehovah Intervene - JW Teaching
by thedepressedsoul ini have been a jw my whole life and i have never been able to get a clear answer on this question.
jw's do not believe that jehovah will intervene if someone is sick, dying or stopping a car crash.
they feel that jehovah is letting "this world" play out before he solves all of these problems.

He does when he does and doesn't when he doesn't, and who are you to question Jehovah.
Isn't that the answer to every JW question, a yes when it is convenient and a no when it isn't?

Wonderment, good summary. The focus of the passage is not the earth, but that may be missed by Watchtower followers.
Neither the 1961 or 2015 NWT directly state the earth will remain forever, nor that it will perish, so the translators could content that they have not changed the meaning. The deception is that casually reading the passage will lead the reader to the incorrect conclusion the writer meant the earth will never cease to exist. The new translation is misleading, even though it could have been rewritten to be easier to read without changing the meaning. For instance:
For as long as the earth continues, it will never cease to have seed-sowing and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, and day and night.

I could not find mention of this before.
I was reading Genesis 8:22 in the NIV and was surprised I had never noticed that this verse gives the impression that the earth will not remain forever. Genesis 8:22 stated by God after the flood, when promising to never again destroy all living creatures.
“As long as the earth endures, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night will never cease.” - NIV
All translations that I have checked use similar terminology, including the 1961 NWT.
While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease. - KJV
For all the days the earth continues, seed sowing and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night, will never cease. - NWT 1961In Hebrew the first phrase is 'erets yowm - literally earth days, to show that the seasons will continue for as long as the earth remains. Terms such as "for all the days the earth continues," "while the earth remaineth," and "as long as the earth endures" give the impression that the earth will have a finite existence.
The 2015 NWT has changed this verse to:
From now on, the earth will never cease to have seed-sowing and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, and day and night.
This is quite deceptive, as it makes it appear that Genesis 8:22 indicates the earth will never cease. This change is to support Watchtower doctrine that the earth will remain forever, despite the passage indicating the opposite when translated correctly.

I made a bet...
by Garrett in...with a sister.
she says she knows an elder that can prove me wrong in everything i say about the organization.
i bet her that he will not be able to answer my questions and if he does, that he will tell me to have faith.

You cannot win, because JWs have two opposing answers for every situation, along with a number of thought stopping statements, and when all else fails, change the topic.
Anything that stumps the elder will be met with responses like;
- "your information has come from apostates, it cannot be trusted"
- "wait on jehovah/new light,"
- "Satan is testing you,"
- "Jehovah is testing you,"
- "I will do some research and come back to you."

How do you overcome SHUNNING after leaving the organization and move on?
by suavojr init amazes me how many of you have left it all behind, including family, brothers and sisters, friends and a full network of people.
i for one cannot find the courage to breakaway, and this causes me great anxiety and stress.
it eats me alive to think that if i open my mouth everyone i know will simply turn their back on me.
-

You never overcome it, so to move on you need to mourned it.
After I was disfellowshipped, I eventually recognised my family would never accept me as part of their life, and mourned as if they had died. That is an important step in order to be able to move on.

The questions include standard personal details, secular qualifications and spiritual status. Their spiritual status regards the baptism date, level of publishing activity, and maturity of them and their family. It particular asks as to their humility and willingness to accept counsel, direction and theocratic arrangement.
It appears they are looking for some "company men" (and women in this case) that will assist without asking too many questions, and are indoctrinated enough not to have their faith shaken by the shocking mistreatment of abused Witness children.
