Funny, when I read this comment " it was taken by a person who is NOT A WITNESS, " I thought, "that's wrong, I'm a Witness." Then I read 2+2=5's comment that I realised that I am not a Witness. Sad to say, you can take the boy out of the witnesses, but you can't take the witness out of the boy.

Nice idea. It would be easy to stick onto the cart. People walking past may scan it, or if the JW knows what it is, they may want to see what it is for.

I'm sure there will be a lot of JW's thinking that way, especially faders. You could even count RV's everytime you see someone come back and grab another piece of literature, all without ever talking to anyone. It will be interesting to see if the number of hours preaching per conversion goes up or down with this new method.

It is the first series I have ever watched end to end. I absolutely loved it. It is always hard to make a finale, but they did a great job. Very satisfying.

I do find itoffensive that there is a cart facng the band the entire time they were playing! I'd sure be upset to constantly have to look at that while playing a number.

For the ten minutes that I waited, no one took literature, and no one revealed themselves as JWs.
The irony is, if you look carefully at the picture, that they were enjoying a Navy band, playing for the 2013 International Fleet Review.
Witnessing was never this easy when I was pioneering.

I think that is an important point. A child does not usually consider they were lied to, as when they get older they recognise it is normal and acceptable fun. It is different than lying to children about daily things, after which a child will stop trusting their parents.

Thanks, great comments. I let Zac enjoy Santa and the Tooth Fairy. I just act very noncommittal when he asks if they are real, so as not to lie. I don't know whether I should just let go and endulge him more in the whole wonderment of it all.

Besty - SBF is correct - the title of the thread is inaccurate.
The title is as how it appeared on a news website, and the article url.
SBF - I don't believe there is any such thing as "false understanding", just different understandings.
That is an extreme comment. "We do not need water in order to live" is a false understanding, not a different understanding, and if acted upon will lead to death.
You say that the State is another form of tryanny to avoid. If a parent is abusing their child, how do you react in the cases that occur on at least a yearly basis when the state does nothing and the child dies?
SBF - The question I pose is, "if at 17 you required a transfusion and had it forced upon you, how would you feel now?" As far as I know, you were an active JW at the time, and like that boy would have been willing to die for your religious ideals. Knowing what you know now, would you be grateful to have been given a chance at life?
Most people I know that attempt suicide and survive, are grateful to survive. We do not always act in our best interests.
