Biography of J. F. Rutherford
by slimboyfat ini read here a while back that someone was working on a biography of rutherford that could be quite revealing, especially as regards his relations with members of the opposite sex (including his wife).
is there any more news on that?
who was it working on that again?

For those here who still profess belief in God I'd like to know if religion is still an important/necessary part of that belief system. If so, do you attend religious services? Which religion/belief system do you ascribe to? If none, how do you worship or maintain a relationship with God? Do you feel that God looks "more favorably" on any particular belief system? Are there any that He rejects?

Peterson verdict - Double standard?
by chappy inpeterson was convicted of murdering his unborn son.
the law in 30+ states says that taking the life of an unborn fetus is murder.
would someone please explain how a non-human can be murdered?

If I shoot a woman who is 2 months pregnant and she survives but I kill the fetus, I would be charged with murder in the majority of states. I consider a two month old fetus to be human and feel that the law would be justified in charging me with murder. In this case the law considers the fetus human as murder only applies to a human being. However the courts do not consider the fetus to be human when an abortion is performed. The child dies during an abortion; it's not human. I shoot the mother and kill the child it is human. You can't have it both ways; it's a double standard.

The roads outside Roman controlled cities were lined with stakes. Typically, the victim would carry the crossbeam from his place of incarceration to the stake where it was hauled up on the fixed stake. The bodies of the executed were commonly left hanging for days as a warning to other would be law breakers.
"Incidentally why do they still sing a Kindom Song "He died upon a tree to set all mankind free", I suppose it rhymes."
The Romans would also make use of trees that lined the road. They would be used as the stake and the victim, nailed or strapped to the crossbeam, attached to it.
Cults like the WTS have a need to be different. The upright stake doctrine is probably just another means to this end.

Hiding my head in shame. Damn, I can't believe I didn't verify that in the Koran. Any and all abuse expected and deserved.
