They were interviewed on camera...cuts, black eyes and all. The Muslim guy was standing between the Jewish couple and they both had their arms around his shoulders during the interview. I'll check and see if I can find the segment on the net somewhere. Many news segments are posted somewhere and if I can find it I'll put it in this thread.

ORG's Stand on Child Abuse
by Wordly Andre inin the press release made public addressing abuse, it states that: "however, even if the elders cannot take congregational action, they are expected to report the allegation to the branch office of jehovah's witnesses in their country, if local privacy laws permit.
in addition to making a report to the branch office, the elders may be required by law to report even uncorroborated or unsubstantiated allegations to the authorities.
if so, we expect the elders to comply.

I just saw a short segment on FOX about an incident this afternoon on the NY subway. A Jewish couple were getting on the train when a group of about 10 others were telling everyone in the car "Merry Christmas!" The Jewish couple replied "And Happy Haunikka to You!" One of the guys in the "Christmas group" replied "You're part of that group of SOB's that killed Christ!" Several of them then proceeded to literally beat the crap out of the two Jews. No one on the train, (including other Jews) interferred or helped as the two were getting the hell beat out of them; until one lone Muslem guy jumped in and helped fight them off the two, getting two black eyes and numerous other facial injuries for his trouble. "All I saw was two fellow New Yorkers, human beings, who needed help" he said. Wow, one lone Muslem, helping fight off a mob of Christians who were attacking Jews! This made me feel good.

I'm wondering why the leadership takes this stance of secrecy in the first place? Why wouldn't any normal person no matter how they feel religiously not want to report abuse and molestation to the authorities? Do they really think that their stance is correct in the eyes of God? Are they trying to protect the "good name" (sic) of the society? Is there really a semi-organized group of pedophiles in the borg actually being protected by the leadership? Am I missing something?

Recall the statement made by one of the traveling overseers back in the 70's? While giving a talk he held up one of the green NWT's and said bluntly that if the society stated that if this book was black then it was indeed black! I didn't hear this personally however it has been verified by numerous JW and exJW sources over the years. I think you can find this on Randy Waters site. Unbelievable.

Slightly off topic but it's very interesting that this is pure astrology...that evil practise conjured up by pagans, according to all of the religious community. Astrology of course can be practised by quacks as evident in the daily newspaper astrology charts, however the above data is verifyable scientific evidence. I wonder if the Borg considers this info as demonic and off limits?

I certainly wasn't doubting travelers feelings. I was just making the point that what is a fact to one individual cannot necessarily be proven empiricly to another. The point I was making in the previous post was that if anyone really wants to know if there is a Creator that no other person can proove it to them. Let's face it, there are really only two choices and one is just as "impossible" as the other. Matter, time and space coming from absolutly nothing or matter time and space from some form of intelligence who also originates from nothing. There's never been one snippit of scientific evidence of matter originating from nothing. So you can take on that particular leap of faith or take the other - it's all up to you. Just out of curiosity what made you take the first choice?
Just to make one matter clear, the Creator that I know isn't an asshole who condems people who don't believe in Him/Her. I think God prefers skeptical people who honestly seek the real truth at all cost, not dogmatic religious zealots. Learning and understanding of any kind comes at different times for different people At some time in the future everyone will know for sure, of that I'm certain.

there are good reasons to conclude that the tree of knowledge of good and bad was the male cannabis plant and the tree of life the female cannabis plant, the one which bears the seed.
