by mrsjones5 in*rolls eyes* my dear hubby rented 3 movies, one of them was "juno".
i kindly requested that the children were not to see that movie.

I saw Juno and there are a few things I’d like to point out, the first is that I don’t think the four year old understood what was going on in the movie and the second is that your ten year old was probably bored to tears while watching the movie. My argument is very simple, when you teach your children right from wrong and you care and nurture them from a young age there’s no movie, music video or song that can make them lose the values that you as a parent has instilled in them. However, if your children are so easily swayed by what they watch and listen to, well then I’d say you’ve done a piss poor job of raising them.
Also in the future maybe you’d be so kind as to place a disclaimer on your topics that read something like “Please reply only if you are going to agree with me, otherwise please keep your opinions to yourself”

I think you over reacted. If you’ve taught your children to be good human beings with morals and values watching one PG13 movie is not going to do damage to them. If you really want to keep them from watching inappropriate things I suggest you get rid of MTV, in fact get rid of your TV altogether along with your computer and your radio. Oh and you might also want to move them into the basement and away from civilization.

Sitting her forgetting it all.
by Sparkplug intrying to remember what it is i have been supposed to be doing since monday.
don't have a clue.. my daughter ran away and all her stupid ass friends are not giving her up.
the police are looking and nothing.

Sparkplug,
What kind of help did you try to get her after she got her stomach pumped? A kid doesn’t just go from being happy to using drugs and running away from home, it just does not work that way, is there any reason why she might be doing this that you might be trying to ignore?

Assembly coming up- Still not talking to family but I will see them....
by cognac ini actually did talk briefly with my dad last week but still not talking to my mom or sister.
should i try to break the ice now or then or what?
should i just not break the ice and let it be awkward?

Your family did what they did not out of vindictiveness but out of a misguided sense of love. You have to look at your situation clearly, they are worried about you that’s why they talked to the elders, if they hated you they wouldn’t give a damn if you got DFed or if you DA’ed. Stop acting like a child, if you want to have a good relationship with them or even a civil one make the first move or stop complaining.

My nephew is getting baptized
by coolhandluke inif you got to choose who your children would be, i'd choose luca.
he is all the things that i'd like to be myself.
there is no human who holds more weight for me than him.

I don’t mean to be negative but business? Seriously? How long do you think his elders/congregation will tolerate that for? What if someone is suddenly “stumbled” by his relationship with you, how will he deal with that kind of pressure? We all know that as long as you’re not baptized you can get away with some things but once you get dunked, things have a way of changing. At any rate, good luck to both of you.

CHL,
It was my understanding that you're DFed? If that's so how will he keep in touch with you when we all know he should not be speaking with you? I know that when I was in no matter how much I cared for someone there was no way in heck I'd speak with them if they were DFed. Is there even a small chance that he won't speak to you once he gets dunked?
