  we generally hear negative stories about the jws but were there any who did an act of kindness towards you that really helped you out?

  Sadly I can't think of anyone or anything. Unless you count the free babysitting for single sisters that my mother volunteered me for repeatedly.

  Phone Witnessing...

  in my congregation, there is a well established group that does phone witnessing every thursday.

  the society actually encourages us to try other avenues of ministry, however it seems like phone witnessing is hurting more than its helping.... even i, the covert apostate, don't mind phone witnessing.

  i mean whats not to love?air conditioningfoodsitting around and talkinggirlsdid i mention food?.

  Way to many things wrong with it to pick just one! Disfellowshipping is way up there. It would be nice to be equal in the KH and be encouraged to find our own individuality instead of the WTBS inflicted personality.

  Yes, it is possible. As far as attraction goes, yes that will probably happen, doesn't mean that it will be acted on. My boyfriend has several female friends and I have several male friends. No worries! The danger is if you are becoming "friends" because you are attracted to each other but can't ( or won't ) act on that attraction for whatever reasons.

  Questions abound in my mind!

  Does this group meet up together to do this? are they in the same room or the same building? I have this mental picture of the PBS fundraisers with all rows of people on the phones. Is there a "script"? Where do you get the phone numbers? Is there phone territory? Or do you just rip pages out of the phone book?

  I think that's all my questions for now.

  I'm also thinking that I should have payed attention more as a JW!

  An End To Shunning

  well, in my case anyway.

  for those of you that may recall my posts about my family and that after i left the wts, how i wrote long (and painful) letters to my nonjw children among others.

  i had tried to explain why i had shunned them and how very sorry i was, and for all the mistakes i had made throughout their childhoods as a jw mother.
