I appealed even though the elders told me that they were sure they had made the correct decision.
One week later I had to sit thru what was basically a JC all over again only to be told "even though we feel that you are repentant, we are taking the opportunity to make an example of you to the other young ones in the hall"

Has anyone appealed a D/f, and what was the outcome?
by dido ini appealed against my d/f because i wanted to expose the elder that d/f me, the chairman.
i thought it was so hypocritical as he had been calling at my house alone (yes alone) making sexual innuendos, i never invited him in, but couldn`t believe the things he said to me.
then when i was summoned to the j/c, him, his step father, and his side kick little elder friend were siiting in judgement of me.

Life IS hard to deal with.
by Undecided inmy son is in icu and my wife's sister-in-law's dad just died this morning.. my son was going with my daughter to charlston sc for the weekend.
she went by to pick him up and he fell over and wasn't breathing.
she had some training in giving artificial respiration and was able to revive him until the medics got there.

If Money Were No Object, What Hobby(s) Would You Pursue?
by Stephanus ini'd probably have a pretty well stocked backyard machine shop, complete with lathe(s), milling machine, welding gear, etc.
i'm a fitter and turner by trade, so it kind of makes sense...

I'd build a great library, comfy chairs, shelves and shelves of books, windows to a goregeous garden. Then I would alternate between tea and a good book and knitting. The smell of books and wool would be heaven.

Hi!
by sarahbear76 inso i just registered and i thought i should say something about myself instead of just lurking about.
i'm 21 years old and i left the the jw's when i was 18. i was born into the religion so it's been really hard getting use to things.
my story is pretty complicated and for some safety reasons i can't say to much.

So sorry Panda, I know how much it can tear you up inside to have to make that decision with a beloved pet.

alopecia
by BlackSwan of Memphis inhello all.. ok i'm wondering if anyone here has ever had to deal with alopecia which is bascially loss of hair.. the reason i ask is because we have noticed that our 6 year old daughter's hair seems much thinner.
at first we thought it was just because she was getting ahold of the scissors and giving herself a trim.
but we are both (her dad and i) noticing that it seems like its just plain thin and that there is hair in her bed in the morning when she gets up.. i just noticed when she got out of the bath that it seems thinner at the root area.
