At home recuperating from my surgery
by Dimples ini had the surgery on friday and i am doing well.http://www.spine-health.com/topics/surg/overview/cervical/cerv03.html.
just really sore but able to walk and get around the house.
the neck brace is the killer, i was itching and broke out in a rash.

why do they often seem to be plagued by strange, chronic illnesses - that often appear.
to have a strong psychosomatic element?

Regarding JW illnesses, it does seem that they are plagued with mystery diseases fairly often. BTW, wasn't there a book written or essay by a "doctor" saying this was true?
I don't know if there was a book, I would be interested if there was.
It's been experience that if people are in denial about their depression that pyscho-somatic disorders tend to occur at a higher rate. I don't believe this is inclusive to JW's. There is still a stigma to some about depression.Or they feel guilty about it because to outsiders their lives appear perfect. Some may feel that they would be a failure to admit and seek help for the depressive stae they are in. The body reacts by starting to "act up".
That's my 2 cents anyway, I'm off to work!

Ever have a massage and start having weird emotions pop up? or start crying for no reason? What is your body
telling you?
You are not just a mind. Your body talks to you and if you ignore it because of stiff religion
or even intellectual disdain, it will 'get back at you'!
I see this every day at work. I don't know if singing and dancing will work for everyone.What I encourage my clients to do is to simply allow themselves to feel. It's okay to have negative feelings or to feel extreme hate or love. It's okay to say I'm not comfortable, sad want to be alone. You don't have to be everything for everybody.
Identify your emotion, embrace what you can learn from it and when it's time release it. You won't need it any longer.

Family tragedy.........HappyDad
by HappyDad ingot a phone call from my daughter who lives in florida a couple of hours ago.
her significant other who i chose to call my son-in-law (because he is the best thing to ever happen to her) got a phone call that his 6 year old daughter was killed in an auto accident near lake placid, florida and his 5 year old son is in very critical condition.
the ex wife is also critical.

WHAT was the nicest compliment anybody ever paid you? What did they say?
by Terry inwhen i was about 16 i had a terrible crush on an older lady (she might have been 30) who was the lovliest person ever.
she had poise, confidence, intelligence, wit, appreciation and culture.
i was just a skinny, shy, geeky kid that she took under her wing.

You think that it would be okay for a d'fd person to sit next to the people who love them the most. To separate them and alienate seems counter productive to encouraging someone to come "back to the fold"
Come back to what? no one should even look you in the eye, let alone smile or act pleased to see you. Who would want to return to that?

Dams that sucks. Are you glad to be part of the biger "world" now. People who love you without questioning how you got to the hall?
Yes! Who cares how I got there if I am there?
