well the memorial is tmrw night and time is running out to give out invitations.

last night my mother asked me if i've heard from any of my old jw friends.
No invite for me! I've only ever been invited by my parents never anyone else. And I've been bumping into JW's everywhere I go lately. The grocery store, the bank, the mall, Tim Horton's (of course!) Even school! Oh well, I guess I'll have to pick out a pretty hot pink nail polish and give myself a pedi, while I watch Bones and the Amazing Race.

many of the jw's i grew up with had "family day", a kind of pseudo-christmas, where each family member would draw another's name and buy a gift for that person.
they'd then have a special day where they'd exchange gifts and have a meal together.
my family started doing this when i was in my mid 20's.
We did that on my parent's anniversary every year. We also had friends that just picked a random day of the year and had "Family Day" with all the gifts etc. It was frowned upon by some in the hall but one of the elder's (with a huge amount of kids) did the same thing so they frowned quietly.

he, and his family are going through a tough time right now.
he got a call that his dad has a tumor, and also found something in his liver, believed to be cancer.
i just wanted everyone to let him know we are all here for him and his family!.

when you were in the borg how many scriptures did you know off by heart and could remember chapter and verse.. id say i could remember about 20, and they were the ones we would constantly use !
sad really after 20 years.
I was sooooooo bad at remembering scriptures. My mom actually gave me a lecture at one point because I couldn't even string a couple of books together in proper order. "Lok at xxxxx he's only 3 and can name all the boks in proper order" Blah Blah Blah

i posted a little about this last night but i figured i would post the rest for you guys, this is the conversation that i had last night with the sister that studied with me.
she called me and wanted to know if i had plans for the memorial, i told her that i would not be going this year and the following is the conversation we had:.
jw: oh no, you can't miss the memorial, if you can't make it to the one in your hall why don't you cme to ours?.
((((((Lola)))))) That really bites! Be strong and don't let yourself be pushed into anything you aren't comfortable with.

Well you've already reached a conclusion without my expertise. Here it is anyway! Heehee.
You do need time away to recharge yourself. I wish that I had the opportunity to do so after my separation it would have done wonders. It drains all your energy.

ok here's the plan: i am planning on writing the elders a letter stating my concerns over issues such as 607 bce, un, their de-emphsis on jesus.
i am a major techo freak, i have spy camaras with color and sound, webcams, a cell phone with 512mb of memory that can take video's with sound and high quality tape recorders.
i am having car troubles right now, so the elders are going to come over to my house to meet.
Ask them if they have changed the way they handle child abuse (both abusee and abuser) Ask them about silentlambs.

it is funny how the fade works...how easy it is to do.
i remember when i lived back home, people always knew what i did and who with, but when i moved away they couldn't keep tabs on me anymore.
i was kinda bad right before i left the area, so i assumed everyone just figured i left the organization.

It feels good to be free, I never thought I would get over the hurt of "family" not giving a sh*t...I guess now it's my turn.
It's a funny feeling at first to see family and not feel that bond to them isn't it? It's gotten to the point with me that I'm no longer recognizing cousins that I grew up with, I may as well be seeing them for the first time.
Same for the truth...no emotion whatsoever about it. It's almost impossible to describe the peace of mind that comes with that.
Happy thoughts. That's goal for the future, getting closer every day.
