Def'd I'm so glad you are so confident about how Jesus would judge you, or what he would say to you. If the rest of the world (JW's and Non) had this confidence and knowledge it would surely cure a lot of heartache!

Why stir up a hornets nest. Maybe, by example, you can show your father that both you and your mother are leading just as good and productive lives as "inactive" witnesses as you did as "active" witness, and in this way you will be able to show him where the "organization's" teachings are wrong. Why put him through the pain of possibly having to make a choice between his blood and the "organization" and why give the "organization" the last laugh!
I didn't think the term disfellowshipped was still being used, let alone excommunicated (that is soooooo Catholic), I thought it was just announced that "______ _______ is no longer a Jehovah's Witness"

Has Def'd ever answered the question as to why he was DF'd? I know several people have asked but as usual the subject is ignored.
Congratulations DnC on getting an answer and I loved everyone elses comments.
Def'd it seems whenever the questions and/or answers get to much for you to handle you don't reply or in this case...go home? Are you by any chance using your employer's computer? Is this within company policy? Do you have permission? If your congregation were to find out you frequent this "Apostate" site (and frequent is an understatement) how would this affect your chances of reinstatement or would it cause you to be DF'd if you're not already? If Jesus were to come to earth now, how would he judge you or feel about you going online, frequenting this site and...stealing time from your employer to do it?
An Inquiring mind would like to know......

really only the pleasure i got from bible studies, of which i really only had about 10 real ones of.

I guess you probably don't realize how much help you are to others....those of us who have become members of JWD and those of us that lurked for a while!
You've been given a lot of useful suggestions and the only one I can add is.....It is never to late to further your education. You don't stop learning 'till you stop breathing. I went back to school at 47...I know of others a lot older. You are a valuable and wothy person....don't give up. The best revenge to anyone that hurts you is to be happy and be successful at whatever you choose to do.

Pregnant women that have any part of their swollen anatomy exposed (I won't even go into the picture of Brittney, but then for the most part that child commits a fashion crime every time she walks out the door) and maternity clothes that are so figure hugging that every bulge is exposed or hanging out of some part of the garment.
And I don't care for exposed undergarments, i.e. bras that are exposed, tube or strapless tops with bra straps exposed and the worst.....thongs sticking out above low riding jeans on women and undershorts sticking out of lowrider pants on men, you know the pants that young men must grab in the crotch area while walking so they don't fall down.
i know people who don't say their real age, like take off 2 or 3 years.... my mom looks younger than her age, so she sometimes took off a few years.
gee, i'm just the opposite, i rather say my real age, and wait for a compliment saying "hey you look good for your age".

When I was 16 and 17, I looked 21+ so it was no problem getting served. However I turned 21 in September, the drinking age was dropped back to 19 for a while....and I got carded everywhere I went...what a pain.
I'm now 54 (as of September 8) and I'm always honest about my age, however some days I feel 16 and some days I feel 96...!
