Welcome Klinton, stick around there's something for everyone here!
Touche' Spectre
i was looking around the internet, trying to locate an image of god's chariot to show someone, and i found this little place here.
it's...interesting.
as far as i can tell from poking around there seems to be a mix of the faithful, the inactive, and the disfellowshiped (like myself).

Touche' Spectre
i seem to remember a kingdom ministry (or was it a watchtower?
) that praised the bros. for selling their houses and using the last few years of "this old system of things" to pioneer... right before 1975. does anyone know which one it was?.
i need it for a ebay person that is calling their fellow bros and sis idiots if they thought that armageddon was coming in 1975.
Garybuss, I don't know if I've ever said this to someone I've never met, actually I know I haven't, but I love you and I love you comments. You never fail to hit the nail on the head.....or should I just comment on your comment DITTO!
Soledad, my son was born in February of 1975, not on purpose, but that's the way it worked out and a number of the older sister, my mother included "rejoiced that he would be growing up in the new system of things". I was also told I should have waited, because then I wouldn't have had to suffer through labor pains??????? He didn't (grow up in the truth, let alone the new system of things), I did (have 72 hours of labor)! Go figure!
music gets us all riled up every so often, especially when on the e-way ( expressway for northerners / freeway for left coasters ) it's a friday night, the mood is right.
what's your favorite song to get a speeding ticket with, that's providing you don't get caught doing so???
mines???.
"Wipeout" by (?)
or
"Speed" by Mongomery Gentry
just checking up on richie, seeing if anything has happened.
been away from the board for a while.
Jula, I saw his gorgeous avatar on another thread and can't for the life of me remember which one it was. I share in your curiousity. Richie where are you?????
i posted this on a different thread regarding my mother but her sister (my aunt) told her that because i left the "truth" and am living my life outside of bible principles, that the "demons" are affecting her.
she told my mom that twice last week, "the demons pushed her" and caused her to fall.
because my mother associates with me and my mom associates with her sister----therefore the "contact" is made thru my mother to her.
Minimus, I think it is lovely that you will share your demons with you aunt through you mother. How kind of you to share.
If they don't want them, why don't they just call on the name of Jehovah to protect them?
U/D I'm wondering why there are so many new poster's with no biographies or background information......and then when asked "why" about something they give a very snotty comeback???? If you want to "waste" a post or whatever you have a perfect right to! I for one just love looking at you!
silly question.
he wrote the best known ex-jw book.
the title is even known among faithful dubs.. it's hard to imagine that he's not interested in the topic.
Ray Franz questioned the FDS and the teachings of the WTB&TS. He revealed some of the lies and falsehoods being written by the "organization" for this he was "cast out". He wrote several books sharing this information and his views.......he does not wish to start his own religion or have a following.
There is another thread going on one of the "members only" sections, on which some of the posters are trashing some of his writings.
If he were to openly post here.....I'm afraid he'd either be set up as a leader to be followed and worshipped or be trashed and valified.....when all he has done is revealed the achilles heel of the WTB&TS and explained why he left the organization.

Freddie Franz is deceased, Ray is still very much alive, though elderly and in frail health as stated previously. He brought to light the facts he did about the WTB&TS because he truly believed in Jehovah and the Bible, he did not believe in the "Organization", their spin on world events and the bible and the "politics" of the WTB&TS. My younger brother (now 51) served at Bether during the reign of Freddie Franz and during the time Ray was still there. Ray was known for his honesty, hard work, spirituality and his kindness to all. It was his honesty that led to his leaving the WTB&TS, I don't think he has ever really left Jehovah!
the other day, my mom foun pictures of me getting a lapdance.
i was very embarassed when i saw it, but now she wants to read the bible to me so i won't go to strip clubs anymore.
can you say "pure hell"?
Perhaps you could explain to her that you and the dancer were "singing and dancing in praise to Jehovah" as the Isrealites used to do, as we've often read in the Song of Solomon and the book of Psalms?
:-)
ok, i've been watching the show "inked" on a&e and i think it's a really cool show about tattoo artists in las vegas.
and lately i've been thinking about getting a tattoo somewhere on my body, possiblely my lower back.
my sister has one there and i think it's really cool.
I don't have any yet! However I just bought myself a 2005 Suzuki Boulevard C50T and am now shopping to find out what my first piece of body art will be. It will have to be age appropriate, fine lines and in a location where it can be hidden by business attire!
My daughter Danielle got her first piece of body art at 15 (she's now 17 1/2) it was a duck with attitude, after that she got a pudgy devi with a halo on her lower back and 3 months ago she got a tribal band with her late Grandfather's initials (RJM) in the center around her upper right arm. The only one that bothered her was the devil on her lower back, the artist was a little heavy handed and we should have waited until a differant time of month to have it done.
