Thank you everyone who gave me all this information...have learned quite a bit. I will let my sister know about these thoughts and insights. If she speaks to me again that would be great, if she doesn't hopefully one day she will wake up and smell the brainwash. Peace love and joy to all....

Need clarification on communication with a disfellowshipped person
by jostes inwas wondering the clarification of a relationship someone can have with their mother if they have been disfellowshipped and the daughter is in good standing with the congregation?
the daughter was baptised after the disfellowship.
does this mean the daughter is not to have a relationship with the mother.

Religion is one thing, a vult is another. If this is a cult why should they be considered a religion? why should they be convenanted and protected by religion when it is not?

I believe honesty is the best good or bad. I appreciate all of the answers so far, even if they are disliked or liked.

Now let me guess since I don't have the views of a JW my sister shouldn't speak or associate with me either?
And explain that one to me, I have never spoke to her regarding her beliefs, that is why I came here so she didn't feel uncomfortable explaining it to me. She knows I am a Catholic, and proud of it. I just wanted some understanding, thanks for trying to accomodate me. But still so lost, just wish that everyone could get a long and be happy in their own way of seeking god, higher power, etc.

What I am referencing to is disfellowshipped....being not acceptable to this group by the groups accord. The mother personally deserved this, drinking drugs, abusive and a slut. But you know I guess I was also was taught forgiveness...what ever happened to that. I personally was not raised by my mother she is a lost soul, but even the lost soul needs forgiveness and guidance even if the fall a couple of times like St. Peter who denied Christ 3 times. Forgiveness is needed, and obviously this CULT lacks that and teaches how to hate and hold grudges. ALSO how to judge those but wishes not to be judged at the same time. That is CRAP!

You know personally, the topic i started on the comunication with the disfellowshipped, it is my sister and my mother, hate being trapped between all that, personally I am Catholic, proud of it, would never push all that on you. I don't understand how the jw can judge and pick and choose with whom you speak or associate with out of their congregation. I also believe god has chosen your family, you with the guidance of what conscience you have choose your path. You will deal with the consequences when it is time to own up. So personally this whole jw stuff for me in confusing, my mom had us try to be involved as kids, never bit it off cause it made me nervous some of the teachings. Anyway, stand strong your heart and conscience will tell you what to do.

Why doesn't anyone answer me on why jw are able to judge people the way they do? Isn't that un-"christian" like? Being judgemental will not help yourself get in better standing...

So what this means is by the writings, scriptures and teaching of the jws are that encouragement of separation of family. Wouldn't a relationship also have the posibility of bringing that disfellowshipped person back? This is confusing. I can't believe the jws are allowed to judge like this...please help me top understand this. It makes no sense, what happened to letting "jehovah" (jesus) and/or God judge you, not the peers. Aren't you supposed to help support and bring others to see the light in getting in the right spiritual belonging?

Was wondering the clarification of a relationship someone can have with their mother if they have been disfellowshipped and the daughter is in good standing with the congregation? The daughter was baptised after the disfellowship. Does this mean the daughter is not to have a relationship with the mother. And the mother may not know and share life experiences with the daughter and her family? Help with this... it is tearing the family apart. The mother does not wish to rejoin the church. She no longer wishes to practice the witness faith, and does encourage her daughter to believe in what she believes in within her witness community? Can they still have a relationship with this dilema?
