What desktop downloads does Kotex have on their site? I shudder to think.....
(i get the distinct impression that our dear friend mary is responsible for this rant....) .
dear kotex.
i recently noticed that the peel-off strip of my pantiliner had a bunch of kotex tips for life" on it.

each year name badges are handed out at the kingdom halls for those attending the upcoming district convention.
i have always refused to wear one but this was not a major issue as i would say only about 50% wore them anyway.
however i noticed that as the years went by more and more 'brothers' were wearing them including during the lunch break in the city centre concerned.
As most ex-sister's know, DC's were the biggest fashion show of the year! Many would spend hours looking for the perfect dress, the perfect accessories, and spend time putting it all together. Then the society wants me to poke hole in my new threads just so they can identify me?! Hated that!

a post about caffeine and coffee in the "what if the wts banned alcohol" thread jogged my memory.... back in the 70s sometime (i can't remember if it was pre-75 or post-75) a rumor started circulating around our area that at the next convention the wts was going to add caffeine and caffeine products (coffee, coke, etc) to the list of banned substances (tobacco, blood).
of course, it never happened, but for a couple of months the rumors were hot and heavy.
the rumors were easily believed by a lot of the dubs because of the "up" effects caffeine can give you and besides, the mormons banned it, there had to be a reason.
If they banned caffeine, alot more people would be falling asleep in FS!

i'm not sure if its just me, but i've noticed that every time i drive through the "ghetto part of my city" ok maybe ghetto is a poor choice of words but poor neighborhood, i always see jw's out in the streets.
i live in the same city only in the better part and i hardly ever see jw's on my street?
not that i am complaining about it but, i was thinking do they target lower income families, or in their eyes uneducated people for their ministry?
My ex and I were sent to where the "need was great" in a small inner city near our home, and the FS attendance was always good. i think people liked hearing about equality, better living conditions, better health, etc. When we were in my old cong (a more affluent area) people would say "I already have paradise here".
another poster had the topic about your last meeting, but what really stands out for me is my last time in service.
it was a nice day and i was trying to keep up appearances.
i offered the rags a one door and the householder took them (i didn't bother with the donation spiel.
My last time in FS was with my (now ex-) hubby, who asked me to go with him on bible studies. He kept after me to tell him what was on my mind, so I finally told him I wanted out of our marriage. There's some "good news" for you! Fortunately, his BS's weren't home.

sometimes i just get hit again with the knowledge that some things will not always be there...and if we aren't careful, opportunities will pass us by.
same goes for other family members, so many aren't able to contact their families now, and wish they had said more, called more, hugged more.

My family was never in the borg, but there are certain ones I left behind in my old cong I wish I could contact. One married a Brooklyn Bethelite. If any one left Bethel in the last 9 years, feel free to PM me.

a few points from the 2006 biannual c.o.

we have lives in our hands.
I can't believe the lengths they go to to cover their arses! What a loving "mother" as they like to call themselves, they are!

hi folks, .
after 7 months out of the cult and my 20e birthday approaching (next week) i sorted out what i would do with my life.
after i exited the borg i thought about various plans like touring the world or infiltering the congregation and fight the borg or becoming a professional musician (music is a hobbie for me).
Congratulations! I hope you enjoy your studies!

i was reading through a journal i kept for my oldest son when he was a baby, and came accross a couple of entries that just make me cringe.
i was writing about my grandparents, the last of which passed away (not witnesses) when he was still less than a year old.
the journal is written like a letter to him for when he is older.
what painful memories for you all! my heart goes out to you.
if any thought may help you, i hope that it would be that your experiences may help someone else reach out to their unbelieving family.

when i was a youngster, many guys had long hair, then a few years later it got short, very short.
now i've noticed that hair for guys is longer again.. this spring, i saw boys go to school, walking in front of here, and many had very long hair.. .
just a few minutes ago, i watch the news on tv, and the man in his late 30's had very long hair....lol.
in our area among teens, your hair length signifies what group you are with:
longer hari: goths, rockers and such
shorter hair: sports, academic and such
