  For those using Photoshop from Adobe

  what is your take on the latest from adobe and their lease only option for future versions of their software?

  pay the monthly fee or lose the use of the program..

  I don't use Adobe personally, but my husband does daily for work. I can tell you that recently he signed up with some local agencies to get additional free lance projects and the rep he met with practically squealed to learn he was not only using Adobe, but the latest version (SaaS). She said he was the first one out of her last 14 interviews that did and that it definitely would make it simpler for her to find him additional projects based on that alone.

  We both use several programs for editing (I use Gimp because I'm not using it that often). And would say if you're in a design industry it's worth it, if you're using it occassionally and not doing anything that you'd be getting paid for and needs to be a more specific current version it's not worth it.

  Just an update for those who remember me

  i'm not the newbie anymore, but i've been very much off the site lately.

  not for lack of appreciation for what is here, i've just been busy.

  i am now married to my brit boy (who is a non jw).

  I'm not the newbie anymore, but I've been very much off the site lately. Not for lack of appreciation for what is here, I've just been busy. I am now married to my Brit boy (who is a non jw). We've been married a little over a month now, we decided on the road trip we took in early october to do it. My parents both are in denial still that I don't want to be a jw anymore, and the technicality of the fact that I didn't write a da letter is keeping my dad in the stance that they can still associate with me freely besides at work, which is what they seemed to want considering how things went with my sister when she da'ed herself.

  I got a phone call within the last few weeks from the PO and he asked me about some of the questions I had, I politely replied that I wasn't ready to return to meetings etc etc, and since I am married to the man that was my bf and they have no way to say otherwise they aren't able to df me either. So I don't have to spend much of my week pretending to want to be a witness. For my parents sake to not utterly break thier hearts I just omit alot of what I truly believe and leave it at that, they seem to be ok with that as long as I remind them that I do respect that thier beliefs work well for them.

  So things have gone better for me than I could have expected, which is great, and I wanted to thank everyone here that has given me feedback etc and replies. I will try to be here a bit more in the future, but I have other projects I'm working on.

  If anyone wants to contact me away from here please feel free to IM me. I'm in Minnesota and don't mind adding new people to my circle of associates, especially those from here.

  Does it bother you to realize that life is normal for those left behind?

  you know when you leave a religion or a place you worked at for a long time.

  you want to feel that perhaps there will be a missing irreplaceable piece, that represents the effort you put into the work.

  you know what i talking about, the comment at work of "this place would be lost without me" or in the religion "i am the main person who encourages field service around here.

  No it doesn't bother me.

  Though I know with my mom who is a jw still she can't come to terms with the fact that my sister who left about 7 years ago is actually happy. They like to think that there is no life outside of being a witness.

  thanks to lilycurly, i don't think i will be able to even nominally remain a witness for much longer.

  the whole "fading" thing goes against the grain anyway.. i arrived here, as my first venture into ex-jw land, as a lurker.

  within a few hours, i spotted two people i knew whoto my surprisehad not yet become ex-ex-jws but were still posting here.

  there's some real nasty stuff going on in my family right now - many of my worst fears about being shunned are coming true and i fear for my mum's health because of all the stress she's under - seriously!.

  but i just cannot bring myself to discuss it.

  I understand what you mean, and at times it does get wearing. Hiatus' are good when you need them. I take them as needed. But Being a jw is still part of you because it is the past you come from, and it does form who you are now even to a small degree.

  for those of you in a serious relationship, is your partner "worldly", an ex dub, or a current dub?.

  my wife is an ex dub like me.. it certainly helps that she understands why i am the way i am, and the actions of her in - laws.. what about you?

  My boy is "worldly", and I love how he's the first man I've been involved with that understands respect etc. Occasionally we talk about witness doctrine but its only to help him better understand my history.
